Safety Instructions
Installer and Users please note: These instructions should be read carefully before use and this document constitutes part of the product which should be kept safely by the user alongside the product.
General Information
Please read the entire instruction manual before using the product and then save it for future reference. BEFORE USE
You must inspect the appliance including its cable and plug for any signs of damage. If the product is damaged, DO NOT use it, and contact your supplier immediately
PAT TESTING
When used in a workplace, this product must be safety-tested annually by a qualified electrician (PAT test) in order to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations. We recommend that it is PAT tested regularly when used in a domestic environment.
PRODUCT SAFETY
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
- Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed inits intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
- CAUTION: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present. For indoor use only.
- Do not use in bathrooms, wet rooms, or other damp locations.
- Do not use this product with an extension lead
- The use of this product in boats, caravans, mobile homes, or other similar locations is forbidden
- There must be a minimum 200mm safe area around the sides of this product that is clear of obstructions and flammable materials
- There must be a minimum 500mm safe area above the top of this product that is clear of obstructions and flammable materials
- Do not place the mains lead beneath a carpet or rug
- This heater must not be positioned below a socket outlet.
- Do not use this appliance in locations where paint, petrol, or other flammable liquids are used or stored.
- Please ensure the appliance is switched off and unplugged when not in use.
- Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
- Do not insert any object into the appliance through the grilles. This may damage the product or result in overheating or electric shock.
- Check the product before use for damage. If any damage is detected stop using it immediately and consult your supplier only use this product on a flat, stable wall.
- Do not leave this product unattended when in use.
- There are no user-serviceable parts in this product
- Allow to cool down before moving a Very hot surface. Do not touch or allow children or animals to come into contact with this heater while on or cooling down
- Do not use under curtains or close to soft furnishings
- This product must only be used in a horizontal position.
GENERAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Domestic wiring must be tested periodically by a qualified electrician at least once every 10 years or at every change of occupancy. For office and retail premises (and buildings such as village halls), the wiring must be inspected at least once every 5 years. It is recommended that all buildings be fitted with smoke alarms (it is mandatory for new buildings).
Mounting instructions
- This heater is designed to be wall mounted and should be installed at least 1.8m from the floor.
- This unit is fixed to the wall using the keyhole slots and an additional secondary fixing point. When attached to the wall the secondary fixing point should be secured to prevent accidental removal of the heater.
- To fix to the wall first find a suitable location 1.8m from the floor and giving a minimum of 200mm gap around the sides of the unit and 500mm at the top. See the diagram on the right.
- The fixings should be chosen to best match the wall on which the unit is being fitted. If in doubt please consult a professional. Approximate fixing dimensions are shown on the adjacent diagram.
Know your product
Control and Display
Remote Control
Plug the unit in and switch on by pressing the main switch to on, the unit starts in standby mode and the display shows “0”:
Using the Control Panel
Turning On
- Press F Once to enter fan mode, the two LED Indicators on the display show -/ (Figure A)
- Press F again, the unit turns to low heating (100ow), and the display shows”-/ &”(Figure B)
- Press F a third time, changes to high heating (200oW), and the display shows “ & it(Figure C)
- Press F a fourth time to return to standby mode ( the fan will run for 30 seconds before shutting down)
Setting Shutdown Timer
Whilst the unit is running press the “ ” button to set a timer(1-12hours). Pressing the button once increases the time by one hour. After setting time, the display will show the current set time for 5 seconds, then resume to the previous display, meanwhile the “ “light will stay on. Below is an example of setting an 8h timer at a high heat setting.
Setting Start-up Timer
In standby mode press the timer button ” “, you can set the turn-on time from 1 to 12 hours in 1-hour steps. After completing the setting of the time the display shows the time till turn-on. The display will automatically decrease by 1 hour for each hour passed. When the appointed power-on time has arrived the heater will automatically turn on. The default temperature is set to 23°C when using the start up timer function. The below image is an example of the heater set to turn on in 8 hours:
Note: if the weekly program timer and temperature are not set then the heater will automatically turn off after 12 hours and return to standby mode.
Remote Control Operation
Note
- whilst using the remote control please make sure the remote transmitter is pointed at the remote receiving area of the product
- Press the “ ” button to switch on the unit, the default operating mode is fan only, and the display will show as the image below.
Press the ” ” button once, the product will change to low heat mode (1000W), Figure A Below. Pressing the button again will change to high heat mode (2000W) figure B below. Pressing a third time will turn the heating element off and the unit will return to fan-only mode, see figure C.
For timed start-up and shutdown functions the timer button on the remote control, “ “, operates in the same way as on the unit control panel.
Setting the Time and Day
Press the button once, the display will shows the hour time”12″. Press the “ ” to set the current hour. Press the button again to show the number of minutes, it defaults to 30. Press the to set the current minute time. Press the button again and the display will show the default day , press the “ ” buttons to set the current day (Monday Sunday: d1-d7). Finally, press OK to confirm the settings. The display will revert to the heater’s last operation display. The images below show the individual steps in setting the date to Wednesday 9:30 am and then returning to heating at high power to 25° C.
The unit will keep the current date and time for as long as the unit remains powered and only the standby, on/off is used to turn the unit on and off. You can press the “” button at any time to check the current date and time.
Setting The temperature
Whilst the unit is switched on and working press any of the “O/O” buttons, the display will show “CU “as a default temperature. Press the “ ” buttons to set the desired temperature between 0°C-49°C. Press the “” Button to confirm the setting. The example below shows the temperature set to 25° C.
If you want to cancel the temperature setting press the “ ” button to select heating I or I. When the LED display shows “-“and the °C indicator light is off. If the unit is not operating to a weekly program the heater will switch off after 12 hours of continuous operation.
Setting Weekly Program
- Before setting a weekly program the Time and day should be set as per the instructions on the previous page.
- Press the “ ” button to turn the unit ON.
- After Setting the time and date press the button to enter programing mode, figure A Below.
- Press the “ ” button and the display will show the first day (d1, Monday). Figure B. Press again rotate button to enter programing mode, figure A Below.through the days till you reach the required day.
- Press “ “button to edit the individual program, P1. You can have upto 6 programs per day (P1-P6). Figure C.
- Press the button again with rotate through the programs till the desired porogram is reached.
- Press the “ ” button, the display shows “00” by default, Press the “” till the desides start time is reached in whole hours, Figure D shows an example of 7:00am. The start time is in 24 hour clock, eg. 15 is 3:00pm.
- Press the button to select the required switch off time, figure E showsa switch off time of 1:00pm (13:00).
- Pressing the “ ” whilst in programming mode will change the desired temperature (10-49°C). Press OK to confirm the desired temperature setting.
- Repeat the above processes to set the programs for each day.
- Press P to exit programing mode.
- For the program function to work the “( P )” indicator light must be illuminated.
As with the time if the power is cut to the unit all programing and settings will be lost Pregaming can only be done in whole hours and not minutes. The off time cannot be less than the on time and if they are set to the same the unit will enter standby mode.
Smart Heating
When in operation and a desired temperature has been set either manually or through the programming function the heater will operate in smart heating mode as follows; When the set temperature is 2°C greater than the room temperature the unit will operate in high heat (2000W) mode. When the set temperature is within 0 to 2°C of the room temperature the unit will operate in low heat (1000W) mode. When the set temperature and room temperature are the same the unit will change to fan only mode for 30s to cool down before switching to standby. If in standby and the room temperature drops to 2°C or less of the set temperature the unit will resume heating.
Open Window/Door Detection
When the unit is either in operating or timer mode press the “ ” button. The & °C indicators will illuminate, the display will show 23. Press “ ” to set the desired temperature. When in open window/door detection mode if the room temperature drops by 5-10°C within a 10 minute period the unit will switch off after 30 mins. Figure A, on the next page, shows open window/door detection set on with the room temperature set to 23°C. To resume heating the “ ” button must be pressed. To turn off open window/door detection at any time press the “ ” button again.
If the open window/door function is switch on when in programing mode it will only operate if the temperature changes during a set program and will turn off for the period of that program. The next operational program to turn the heater on will work as normal with the open window/door function still active. Figure B.
Disposal of old electrical appliances
The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.
INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS FOR LOCAL SPACE HEATERS
Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING
- Never use detergent, chemical damage plastic parts.
- Always unplug and disconnect from the power source before attempting to clean this unit.
- Let the appliance cool down completely before handling or cleaning.
- To prevent risk of fire or electrocution inside the appliance.
- Clean the outside wall of the appliance by rubbing it gently with soft, damp cloth.
- Regularly clean the air inlet and outlet vents of the fan. Ensure the unit is completely dry before plugging back into the power outlet.
SERVICE WARRANTY
