Power level 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Default operation time (hours) 8 8 8 4 4 4 2 2 2

Cooking advice

  • Be careful when frying, as oil and grease heat up very quickly. With extremely high temperatures, oil and grease can ignite spontaneously, causing a serious fire hazard.
  • When food starts boiling, reduce the power.
  • Using a lid will reduce the cooking time and save energy due to heat retention.
  • Reduce the amount of liquid or grease to shorten cooking times.
  • Start cooking with a high power setting and reduce it as food heats up.

Simmering and cooking rice

  • Simmering occurs below the boiling point, at about 85ºC, when some bubbles rise to the surface of the cooking liquid. It is essential for preparing delicious soups and tender stews, because it enhances the flavors without overcooking the food. Egg-based and flour-thickened sauces should also be cooked below boiling point.
  • Some recipes, like cooking rice using the absorption method, may require a setting higher than the lowest setting to ensure that the food is cooked properly in the recommended time.

Pork chops
For juicy and tasty results:

  1. Leave the meat at room temperature for about 20 minutes before cooking it.
  2. Preheat a heavy-based frying pan.
  3. Brush both sides of the meat with oil. Spray a small amount of oil in the hot frying pan and place the meat.
  4. Turn the meat only once during cooking. The exact cooking time will depend on the meat thickness and your likings. Times may vary from 2 to 8 minutes per side. Press the meat to measure the cooking degree; the firmer it is, the more cooked it is.
  5. Let the meat stand on a hot dish for some minutes so it softens before serving it.

Stir-frying

  1. Choose a flat-bottomed cookware that is compatible with the ceramic hob.
  2. Have all ingredients and equipment ready. Stir-frying is fast. If you cook large amounts, cook food in several smaller batches.
  3. Preheat the cookware briefly and add two tablespoons of oil.
  4. Cook meat first, set it aside and keep it warm.
  5. Stir-fry vegetables. When vegetables are hot but still crunchy, choose a lower power for the cooking area, place the meat in the frying pan again and add any sauce.
  6. Stir ingredients carefully.

Heat setting
The following settings are for guidance only. The exact setting will depend on different factors, such as cookware and the amount of food cooked. Test the ceramic hob to find the settings that suit you best.

Heat setting Suitable for
1 – 2
  • lightly heating small amounts of food

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Dirt Cleaning Important
Usual dirt on glass (fingerprints, marks, food stains, etc.)
  1. Unplug the cooking hob from the mains.
  2. Apply a worktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (but not hot).
  3. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth or a paper towel.
  4. Reconnect the hob to the mains if you wish to continue using it.

|

  • If you unplug the cooking hob from the mains, the hot surface indicator will disappear, but
  • the cooking area will be hot. Be especially careful.
  • Strong or some nylon scouring pads and strong/abrasive cleaning products can scratch the glass. Always read the label to check if your cleaning product or scouring pad is suitable.
  • Never leave any cleaning remains on the cooking hob: glass may get stained.

Spills of sugar and other hot melted food on glass| Remove them immediately with a spatula or a suitable scraper for ceramic hobs, but be careful with hot surfaces in the cooking area:

  1. Unplug the cooking hob from the mains.
  2. Hold the cookware at a 30° angle and scrape the dirt or spillage onto a cool area of the hob.
  3. Clean the dirt or spill with a cloth or paper towel.
  4. Follow steps 2 to 4 from the ‘Usual dirt on glass’ section.

|

  • Remove melted and sugary food stains or spills as soon as possible. If left to cool
  • on the glass, they may be difficult to remove or may even permanently damage the glass surface.
  • Risk of cutting: when the safety cover is retracted, the blade of the scraper may be sharp like a razor. Use it with extreme care and always store it safely and out of reach of children.

Dirt on the touch buttons|

  1. Unplug the cooking hob from the mains.
  2. Absorb the spill.
  3. Clean the touch control area with a clean, damp sponge or cloth.
  4. Dry the area completely with a paper towel.
  5. Reconnect the hob to the mains if you wish to continue using it.

| The hob may beep and turn off, and the touch buttons may not work while liquid is on them.
Make sure you dry the touch control area before switching the hob back on.
