SYMBOLS
TECHNICAL DATA
This product complies with the requirements in directive (EU) 2016/45 and European standards EN 1972:2015 and EN 16805:2015.
DESCRIPTION
- The mask has a two-piece glass for best vision. The glass is hardened and the mask has an adjustable headband. The mask seals softly, comfortably and watertight to the face.
- The snorkel has a soft, comfortable mouthpiece. It has a smooth, round shape to make breathing easier.
- For safety reasons the top end of the snorkel is fluorescent orange.
USE
-
HOW TO USE
- The snorkel set is intended for snorkelling and enables you to see under the water.
- Only use the snorkel set in water and only in accordance with these instructions.
- Do not dive deeper than 3 m without undergoing suitable training. Contact your nearest diving club for advice.
- When snorkelling the water pressure can produce a feeling of pressure in the ears. You can relieve this pressure by holding your nose with two fingers and breathing out through your nose.
-
Mask
- To prevent misting, spread a little saliva on the inside of the glass and rinse with water, or leave a little water in the snorkel and shake your head so that the water spreads over the glass if it mists over.
- Familiarise yourself with the mask and practice in shallow water.
-
Snorkel
- Check before use that air can flow unobstructed through the tube and mouthpiece.
- Practice standing up in shallow water. When snorkelling water can come into the snorkel set. This is normal and you need to practice at blowing out the water.
- Snorkels with a valve can be useful for beginners who do not want to dive below the surface. If you want to use the snorkel set to breathe between diving below the surface it is both safer and easier to not use a valve and to blow out the water from the snorkel by breathing out quickly and forcefully when you reach the surface.
-
ADJUSTING
It is important that the snorkel seals to the face and does not prevent you breathing through your nose.- Hold the mask to your face, without using the headband, and breathe in through your nose. The mask seals properly if it stays in place as long as you hold your breath.
- Hold the mask to your face and put the headband round the back of your head. Adjust the headband so that the mask fits comfortably. Do not expose the mask to excessive strain, this can cause the headband to break. Make sure that there is no hair between the mask and your face, this will reduce the seal.
- Fasten the snorkel on a mask by putting the headband through the faster on the snorkel. Note that the flange on the mouthpiece should lie between your lips and teeth.
MAINTENANCE
Rinse the snorkel well with fresh water after use and store in a dry and cool
place. Make sure that the snorkel set is not pressed together when put away.
NOTE:
- Do not expose the snorkel set to direct sunlight, heat or hot surfaces.
- Do not clean the snorkel set with solvent, alcohol or the equivalent, this can damage it.
- Avoid contact with oil and grease. Some sun lotions and skin creams contain oils.
