This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
CAUTION : Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present. -
ATTENTION : To avoid the safety system resetting accidentally, this appliance must not be powered through an external on/off device such as a timer, or connected to a circuit which is turned off and on regularly by the energy supplier.

WARNING : To avoid overheating, never under any circumstances cover the appliance during operation as this would lead to a dangerous rise in temperature.

This symbol indicates recommendations and important information for the user
- Always use the appliance in an upright position.
- The use of extension leads is not recommended.
- However if they cannot be avoided, follow the instructions accompanying the extension lead and never exceed the power limit marked on the extension.
- The heater must be positioned at least 50 cm from furniture or other objects.
- Do not use the appliance in rooms with a floor area of less than 4m2.
- Before putting the appliance away, make sure it is completely off and unplugged from the mains socket.
- Do not store in dusty atmospheres.
- Do not rest anything on the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance to dry laundry.
- Do not obstruct the air intake and outlet grilles (danger of overheating).
- Do not use the appliance near walls, furniture, curtains, etc.
Safety functions
- Safety device: the appliance is fitted with a safety device which switches it off in the event of accidental overheating (e.g. obstruction of air intake and outlet grilles, motor turning slowly or not at all). To reset, unplug the appliance from the mains socket for a few minutes, remove the cause of overheating then plug in again. If the appliance doesn’t work please contact the De’Longhi Customer Experience team – See enclosed guarantee.
- Tip over safety device: a tip over safety device turns the appliance off if it falls over or is positioned inappropriately in such a way as to jeopardise safety.
When the appliance is placed back in a vertical position it starts again automatically.
Use in compliance with intended use
Use this heater only as described in this manual. All other use is considered
improper. This appliance is not suitable for commercial use. The manufacturer
is not liable for damage deriving from improper use of the appliance. This is
a household appliance only. It is not intended to be used in:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments
Use in this manner will invalidate the manufacturers warranty.
Disposing of the appliance
The appliance must not be disposed of with household waste, but taken to an
authorised waste separation and recycling centre.
Fundamental recommendations regarding safety
Dear Customer – The plug on this appliance will get ‘warm’ during use, this is
perfectly normal. This product is A HIGH POWER HEATING APPLIANCE designed to
our usual high standards but please make sure your wall sockets are in good
condition and the plug is inserted correctly to avoid any accidental
overheating. We suggest that you check the plug AND THE SOCKET regularly if
the heater is in prolonged use, if you are in any doubt please consult an
electrician.

USE
Electrical connection
- Before plugging into the mains, make sure the voltage of your mains supply corresponds to the value V indicated on the appliance and that the socket and power line are appropriate for the load required.
- THIS APPLIANCE COMPLIES WITH DIRECTIVE 2004/108/EC ON ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY.
Installation
If the appliance is installed in a room with bath or shower, respect the
“safety distances” shown in fig. 1 and always install away from taps, basins,
showers, etc.
Functioning and use
MODELS WITH FUNCTION SELECTOR AND THERMOSTAT. Make sure the appliance is off
before plugging into the mains.
- Plug the appliance into the mains. The light comes on. If your appliance has a timer, see the section “Models with 24 hour timer”. However, to operate the appliance without programming, move all the teeth of the timer to the outside.
- Turn the thermostat dial to maximum.
- Summer mode (fan only): turn the function selector to the position.
- Low power operation: turn the function selector to position 1 (in models with two fan speeds, the fan operates at minimum).
- Medium power operation: turn the function selector to position 2 (in models with two fan speeds, the fan operates at maximum).
- High power operation: turn the function selector to position 3 (the fan operates at maximum).
- Switching off: turn the function selector to the “0” position.
Please note : In models with two power levels, position 2 corresponds to maximum power.
Setting the thermostat
Position the thermostat on maximum. When the room has reached the required
temperature, turn the thermostat dial slowly anticlockwise until you hear a
click and the fan goes off. The thermostat will then keep room temperature at
the selected level automatically.
Frost prevention mode
With the function selector in position 3 and the thermostat dial in position ,
the appliance maintains room temperature at about 5°C, preventing freezing
with minimal energy consumption.
Models with thermostat only
To switch the appliance on turn the thermostat dial as far as it will go to
maximum position. To switch the appliance off completely, turn the knob to the
minimum position, then unplug from the mains.
MODELS WITH 24 HOUR TIMER
After setting the thermostat and function selector to the required position, to programme heating, proceed as follows:
- turn the timer disk clockwise until the arrow on the timer s lines up with the number corresponding to the current time.
- Set the times when you want the appliance to operate by pushing the teeth towards the outside. Each tooth corresponds to 30 minutes.
THE TIMER IS SET FOR THE FOLLOWING PERIODS OF OPERATION:
- FROM 10 TO 12: ON
- FROM 12 TO 18: OFF
- FROM 18 TO 20: ON
- FROM 20 TO 10: OFF
The radiator will now function automatically each day at the times set. Please note: To use the appliance without programming, push all the teeth outwards.
MODELS WITH SWIVELLING BASE (ON/OFF PEDAL SWITCH)
A number of models have a swivelling base and ON/OFF pedal switch. The
appliance can be manually oriented to an angle of 30° to the right or left to
direct the air flow in the preferred direction. To turn the appliance on, set
the thermostat dial and function selector (and possibly also the timer) as
described above, then press the pedal on the base. To turn the appliance off,
just press the pedal again.
Important: the appliance will come on only if you press the pedal.
MODELS WITH MOTORISED ROTATING BASE
Some models have a motorised rotating base. To distribute the air flow over a
larger area, press the pedal. The appliance swings from right to left. To stop
the appliance in the desired position, simply press the pedal again. Models
with motorised base are fitted with a tip-over switch which turns the
appliance off if it falls over.To restart the appliance, simply place it
upright again.
MAINTENANCE
- Always unplug from the mains socket before cleaning.
- Clean the air intake and outlet grilles regularly.
- Do not use abrasive products or solvents to clean the appliance.
