STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Hey! We’re glad that you’re ready to get started with your first Dipping Powder manicure! Before you start, make sure to take enough time for your first application, don’t rush it and remember, practice makes perfect!

PREPARATION:

  1. Prepare cuticles:
Push back your cuticles. Be careful not to injure yourself.

  2. Remove grease residues:
Gently roughen the nail surface with the fine side of the file to remove grease residue. Don’t apply pressure. There should be no shine left. Also pay attention to the nail edges. After filing, clean with your brush.
Tip: Hands and nails must be dry. Do NOT wash beforehand! If washed, wait 15-30 minutes.

STEP 1: BASE COAT & DIPPING POWDER

  1. Apply Base Coat to your nail:
Apply the Base Coat thinly and evenly to your nail. Be  careful not to touch the cuticle, otherwise the nails may lift later.

  2. Dip your finger into the powder:
Quickly dip your nail into the desired colour powder at a 45° angle (the 45° angle helps to achieve a perfectly smooth surface) and leave it to air dry for 60 seconds.   You can then brush off the excess powder with your brush.

  3. Repeat :
You can repeat these two steps as often as you like until the desired opacity of the colour is achieved. We recommend to start with two to three coats for your first attempt.

Tip: Stir or shake the powder before use to avoid lumps.
Tip : Do these two steps nail by nail. Apply the Base Coat to one nail and then immediately dip that nail into the powder. While that nail is air drying you can move on to the next nail.

STEP 2: ACTIVATOR

  1. Apply Activator to your nail :
  2. Now you can apply the Activator to the entire nail and leave to air dry for at least 2 minutes. Apply plenty of Activator to ensure that the powder hardens. Make sure to apply it evenly, to cover the whole nail and to also coat the edges. It’s no problem if you touch your cuticles with the Activator!
  3. File any unevenness smooth (optional):
If any bumps have formed, you can file it smooth  with the fine side of the file. Then apply another coat of Activator. If there are no bumps, you can skip this step!

Tip : If you feel that you have applied too little Activator, you can easily apply a second coat!

STEP 3: TOP COAT

  1. Apply Top Coat to your nail :
Now apply the Top Coat to the entire nail until it    shines evenly. Then leave the nail to air dry for 2 to 3minutes. Be careful not to touch the cuticles.
First coat: Apply a thin coat, do not go over the
    same area several times.
Second coat (optional) : Apply another thin coat for the perfect shine and to give your manicure the best protection.
Make sure to apply it evenly, to cover the whole nail and to also coat the edges.

Tip : Treat your nails with nail oil. Nail oil nourishes your nails and makes them shine even more.

FURTHER TIPS AND ADVICE:

  • Prepare a paper towel that you will use to wipe your brushes before returning them to the liquid. This will prolong the life of your brushes and ensure that no powder residue gets into your liquids. After using a liquid, always close the brush / lid immediately and do not wait until the end of the manicure as the liquid will immediately begin to dry in the air.
  • To ensure your manicure lasts as long as possible and doesn’t chip, make sure to apply the Base & Top Coat thinly, but apply the Activator generously. Also make sure that you apply all coats right up to the edges of your nails to properly activate & seal the manicure.
  • Please read our list of ingredients before use and follow the warnings. (you find both on the product labels). If you have already had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in our products, we advise you not to use them. However, if you still want to use the products, please only apply the manicure to one of your nails first and wait to see if the manicure causes an allergic reaction!
  • Carry out the manicure in a bright and well-lit room to ensure that you can work accurately.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  1. Can Dipping Powder also be used on short nails?
Yes, you can apply Dipping Powder on short nails just as well as on long nails.

  2. Do I have to take a break between manicures?
It is an individual decision whether to take a break between manicures. If your nails are not used to a long lasting manicure, we recommend that you take a break of 3 days between manicures.

  3. My nails hurt slightly after the treatment, why is that?
You have filed or roughened your natural nail too much.

  4. Can the Dipping manicure also be used on acrylic /
gel nails? Of course, you only need to carefully file off the top layer

  5. Are the products suitable for pregnant or
breastfeeding women? All of our products have been tested and are compliant with the UK cosmetic regulations, which means that they are safe. Nevertheless, we would advise you to avoid long-lasting manicures such as Dipping Powder, Gel, Shellac etc. if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you do decide to use them, we would recommend that you discuss this with your doctor in advance.

  6. My manicure looks thick and uneven, why?
You have probably used too much of the Base Coat. With Base Coat, less is more.

  7. Why do the colours in the pictures look different from my powder?
The powder in the jar itself is always very light and at first glance does not look like the result on the nails.

  8. Is Dipping Powder also suitable for children?
Dipping Powder is not suitable for children. Our Dipping Powder products are professional nail products packaged in user-friendly kits for home use and should be kept away from children.

  9. What ingredients are in the products?
You can find an overview of all the ingredients in the individual products on the products themselves, as well as on our website. All of our products have been tested and are compliant with the UK cosmetic regulations, which  means that they are safe.
We take special care to avoid problematic ingredients. For  example, we deliberately do not use benzoyl peroxide ,which can be found in some powders and acrylic  powders. Our products do not contain HEMA or DI-HEMA and are therefore also a good choice for people who are allergic to gel products. Before use, we recommend that you take a quick look at the ingredients. Everyone can react differently to cosmetics – this also applies to nail products.

  10. How do I remove the manicure?
Detailed instructions for removing the manicure follow on the next page!

STEP BY STEP REMOVAL:

Hey! It’s time to remove your manicure! The removal process requires 10-20 minutes of your time, if this is your first time, please allow yourself enough time and don’t rush it!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • File
  • Brush
  • 100% Acetone
  • Bowl filled with warm water
  • Ziplock bag
  • Paper towel / Cotton wool
  • OPTIONAL: Coconut oil

STEP 1: FILE DOWN THE TOP COAT

Use the rough side of your file and remove the sealing from your manicure. You should only file off the top layer, so you shouldn’t use too much pressure. You can then brush off the residue with your brush.

STEP 2: FILL A BOWL WITH WARM WATER

Take a larger bowl (e.g. size of a salad bowl) and fill it with warm water. The water should be warm, not hot or boiling, as
it should be pleasant for you to put your hands in it.
STEP 3: PREPARE ZIPLOCK BAG
Take your ziplock bag (or alternatively you can also use a smaller bowl), place the paper towel or the cotton wool inside and soak it in acetone.
OPTIONAL: Add some coconut oil or another nourishing oil, to keep your skin and nails moisturise during the removal.

STEP 4: PUT YOUR HAND INSIDE THE BAG

Now you are can put your hand inside the ziplock bag and place the ziplock bag in the the bowl of warm water, close the ziplock bag so that not too much air gets in and rub your nails against the paper towel / cotton wool from time to time. After 6-10 minutes everything should be removed and you can simply wipe off the residue, if there is any.

Tip: If you use two ziplock bags (or a larger one) you can remove the manicure from both hands at the same time. If you use a smaller bowl instead of the ziplock bag, then you can of course put both hands in it at the same time. If you prefer to do it hand for hand the first time, you can of course re-use the ziplock bag and everything inside (or alternatively the same bowl) for your second hand!
