Setting Up the Unit and Using the Top Panel
To prevent malfunction and equipment failure, always turn down the volume, and turn off all the units before making any connections
- Adjusts the parameters shown at the bottom of the screen.
- Switches between banks.
- Switches between memory numbers.
- Saves the edited sound to memory.
- Turns the tuner on/off.
- Adjusts the volume. You can switch the pedal FX on/ off by strongly pressing down with your toes.
- When you operate the expression pedal, please be careful not to get your fingers pinched between the movable part and the unit. In places where small children are present, make sure that an adult provides supervision and guidance.
- When connecting an external expression pedal, use only the specified expression pedal. By connecting any other expression pedals, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to the unit. Expression pedals you can use (sold separately): EV-30, FV-500L, FV-500H, Roland EV-5
Turning the Power On
- Before turning the unit on/off, always be sure to turn the volume down. Even with the volume turned down, you might hear some sound when switching the unit on/off. However, this is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
- Once everything is properly connected, be sure to follow the procedure below to turn on their power. If you turn on equipment in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction or equipment failure.
- Turn on the [POWER] switch of this unit first, and then turn on any equipment that are connected to this unit. Turn on your amps and speakers last.
- Adjust the volume of the connected equipment.
- Use the [OUTPUT LEVEL] knob to adjust the overall volume of this unit.
- The power to this unit will be turned off automatically after a predetermined amount of time has passed since it was last used for playing music, or its buttons or controls were operated (Auto Off function). If you do not want the power to be turned offautomatically, disengage the Auto Off function. For detail, refer to the “Reference Manual” (Web). Unsaved data is lost when the power turns off. Before turning the power off, save the data that you want to keep.
- To restore power, turn the power on again.
- Use the cord hook to secure the cord of the AC adaptor as shown in the illustration.
- Connect the ground terminal to an external earth or ground if necessary
Basic Onscreen Operations
Play screen
First, try playing some notes on your guitar.
- Memory number display mode
- Memory name display mode
- Swipe the memory number or memory name up and down or left and right to switch between memories.
- Drag the respective parameters at the bottom of the screen to the left or right to change their values.
- Touch
to switch to the effects chain screen. - Touch to display the menu screen.

You can press the PAGE [÷] [ø] buttonsto switch between display modes on

- You can touch the screen to switch between banks and memories, in the same way as when you use the footswitches on the top panel.
- Shows how the effects are arranged together for the selected memory
Chain screen
- Touch
to show the icons for all effects that can be used on the GX-100. - Drag the effect icons from the top row of the screen to where you want to place them in the effects chain.
- Drag the icons from left to right to change their order in the effects chain.
- Touch an effect icon to turn it on/ off. Long-press an icon to display the edit screen.
Edit screen
Displays all parameters that you can edit for each effect.
- Touch the icon of the effect you want to edit in the effect chain, shown in the center of the screen.
- Touch the mark.
- Touch
. The edit screen (KNOB VIEW) appears
MEMO
Press the [WRITE] button on the top panel to save the sound you edited to
memory
