How do I equalise the sound such that both earpieces sound the same?

A loose wire on one of the earpieces may potentially be to blame after experiencing the same problem myself. I just had a friend of mine who is into electronics fix it for me. Since there is no shielding to hold the cable in place and could be pulled out, he had to repeat the process twice (hard pull, my case I tripped over the wire while on my head). He secured the cable inside of the “earpods” with a tiewrap so that it could not be removed. An excellent tip for increasing the longevity of headphones. Having used it since 2014, I still adore it.

Do these work well for mixing and mastering?

In a quiet room, I would say absolutely yes. Since they are semi-open, if loud enough, some background noises can be heard. No, they are not the BEST headphones for mixing and mastering. Monitors would ultimately be the best option.

Is this cord removable?

At the left ear cup end of the headphones, the cable cannot be removed. Of course, the other end’s 1/4″ stereo plug makes it completely removable.

My head is especially big. Would these headphones feel comfortable?

When compared to the Beyer HD9, I was astounded at how light these feel.

What is the amount of noise cancellation?

These headphones are not noise-canceling ones. They are effective headphones that reduce outside noise by 30% to 60%. The Audio-Technica Quiet Point are noise-canceling headphones that I believe to be on par with, if not superior than, Bose if you’re seeking for one.
