SERVICING
Do not attempt to clean the speakers with chemical solvents as this may damage the paint surface;. Clean with a dry cloth.

INSTALLATION

When speakers are installed in ceiling, check that the wall structure is reliable and the speaker is firmly attached. Do not install the speakers in fine wood or soft wall material. Doing so can cause the speaker to become unsecured and potentially cause personal injury or damage to the speaker.  Be sure to use both cables. One is for hanging and one is for safety.

SET UP AND OPERATION

MUST BE INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL!

This Speaker is designed to hang from the ceiling. A safety cable should be used when installing the speakers to avoid personal injury and damage to the speaker.

  1. Set speaker to the proper setting for your installation (1 00V/70V/25V/8Ohm)
  2. Install the top cover and fasten the provided eye-hook, nut and washer to the top cover and speaker, as illustrated below.
  3. At each speaker location, route the speaker cable(s) hanging from the ceiling area through the top cover, and dress the cables to the wire rope using plastic cable ties. If using a supplied back cover, slide the speaker cables through the back cover. Strip the ends of the cables approximately 1/8″ to 3/16″ (~3 mm to ~5 mm) and, if the wire is stranded, twist the strands.
  4. Connect the wires from the amplifier ( or the previous speaker) to the supplied terminal block, using the IN terminals; red to+ and black to-. Please refer to the following pages for examples of various types of applications.
  5. Attach the speakers to the safety cable. (Please refer to page 8)
  6. If mounting to the wall/ceiling with the mounting bracket, mount the bracket using the appropriate hardware and securely attach to the ceiling/wall. (Please refer to page 8.

STANDARD SOHM APPLICATION

This example shows the XJ-300ST amplifier with 8Ohm Output

Earthquake-PCS-6.5-Pendant-Ceiling-Speaker-fig-3

Note: for the XJ-300ST
Make sure the front toggle switch is set to BYPASS.  DO NOT set the volume too high as doing so may overload the speakers.

25V/70V/100V APPLICATION

Earthquake-PCS-6.5-Pendant-Ceiling-Speaker-fig-4

NOTE: The above example shows 5 total speakers. Using the 1 OW selection, you will need an amplifier with at least (5) x (10) = 50W. A good rule of thumb to remember is that the total number of speakers multiplied by the setting you select, cannot exceed the output power of the 25V/70V/100V amplifier. You should select an amplifier with 20% greater power; in this case, an amplifier that delivers about60W.

Warning
When installing multiple rows of speakers, we strongly recommend doing multiple wire runs, one run per row. We do not recommend doing a single wire run.

MOUNTING INFORMATION

Warning: When mounting the Speaker to the wall, make sure the proper screws/bolts and anchors are used.  We strongly suggest adding the safety cable to the speaker and secure it to the building’s structue.

HANGING INFORMATION

Warning: Make sure the speaker is properly secured to the ceiling/building’s structure. Please use the proper screw/bolt. As failure to do so may cause the speaker to become unsecured & cause potential damages/injuries.

FAQs

How far from the Earthquake ceiling should speakers be mounted?****

As far apart as speakers on a typical sound system would be, speakers should be placed at least 18 inches from the wall.

Where should you place Earthquake ceiling speakers?****

How far apart should the Earthquake ceiling speakers be placed and where should they go? For the best stereo separation effect, it is recommended to place the ceiling speakers along the length of the room, 2 metres or more apart from each other, and equally spaced from each wall.

What do Earthquake ceiling speakers connect to?****

An external amplifier that is wired via speaker cable to each ceiling speaker is required to power all of the ceiling speakers.

Do I need to cover Earthquake ceiling speakers?****

I learned through my research that built-in speakers frequently have a negative rap. Further investigation revealed, however, that whether or not a back box was fitted was the most likely cause of the sound quality problem.

How do you protect insulation from Earthquake ceiling speakers?****

When it comes to blown-in insulation, your only alternative is a speaker box. As you can place insulation over the top of the speaker box, it is also the ideal choice for keeping your home insulated while retaining sound quality.

Can you use Earthquake ceiling speakers for surround sound?****

As long as the amplifier you’re using supports surround sound, the answer is definitely.

Can I connect ceiling speakers to TV?****

Every TV will have some sort of connected audio output. It will most likely be a digital optical output presently. You can enjoy TV sound through your ceiling speaker system by connecting an analogue cable from your TV to the amplifier, plugging it in, and setting your TV to line output.

How do Earthquake ceiling speakers connect to amp?****

For the wires, drill a hole. Make sure the amplifier is unplugged and turn off your breaker. Put the wires in. Start attaching the wires to the ceiling speakers’ terminals. Take the opposite side of the wires and attach it to the amplifier’s terminals. Try it by turning on your breaker.

How are Earthquake ceiling speakers measured?****

Take your measurements in inches for the speaker using a ruler or a tape measure. The biggest portion of the cone should be facing up while your speaker is erect. Measure the distance between the mounting frame’s two edges at the speaker’s widest point. So that you won’t forget it later, note the measurement.

Do Earthquake wireless speakers need a power source?****

The majority of Earthquake wireless speakers connect to standard power outlets or power strips using AC adapters. To become “truly wireless,” some systems employ rechargeable batteries, although this feature necessitates repositioning and charging as routine tasks in order to use this type of surround sound system.

How do you remove Earthquake ceiling speakers when painting?****

Disengage any retention clips holding the speaker assembly to the ceiling mounting system using a flat-head screwdriver. Take your time and gently pry the speaker from the ceiling. Remove the speaker fully from the ceiling after unplugging the audio cords from the speaker’s back.

Can you put Earthquake ceiling speakers in the wall?****

It is possible to install in-ceiling speakers in walls, and they will sound quite similar to in-wall speakers. The size is the main distinction that you’ll see. Typically, in-wall speakers are bigger than in-ceiling speakers.

Can you do a home theater with all Earthquake ceiling speakers?****

Naturally, home theatre setups with all in-ceiling speakers are very prevalent; I’ve heard a few of them that successfully reproduced surround sound. If you choose that path, I’m confident you’ll be satisfied with the results.

How do I turn on Bluetooth Earthquake ceiling speakers?****

Like any wireless microphone, Lithe Audio Bluetooth Earthquake ceiling speakers may be mounted flush with the ceiling and powered by plugging into a wall outlet or your electrical system.

Are Earthquake ceiling speakers paintable?****

Instead of using one thick layer, use multiple light applications of high- quality spray paint. Make sure the grille holes are not filled with paint; doing so will reduce the speaker’s sound quality.

What are Earthquake ceiling speakers used for?****

EarthquakeCeiling speakers may be utilised in a single room or a number of rooms. They can be used to produce sound that moves easily around a number of rooms, such as the background music at a large party. If you enjoy entertaining, you’ll appreciate the adaptable, unobtrusive surround sound experience they offer both indoors and outside.
