USB Adapter for PS classic

For PS4 Controller

1. Insert USB Adapter into console and then press the pairing button (the LED will rapidly blink)
2. Press and hold the Share and PS buttons until the lightbar begins to strobe quickly in double.
3. Wait until your Retro Receiver’s LED is solid blue and the controller’s lightbar stay on.
4. For next connection only need to press PS button and wait until receiver’s LED is solid blue.

• Key command for switching between two levels: L 1 + R1 + SHARE
• Hot key: Reset= PS button, In game menu: L 1 + R1 + OPTIONS

Quick change mode

1. Connect your controller to the USB Adapter. Your controller may need to be reconnected after switching mode.
Switch: Automatic.
X-lnput: press and hold SELECT+ UP for 3 seconds.
D-lnput: press and hold SELECT+ LEFT for 3 seconds.
rnacOS: press and hold SELECT+ RIGHT for 3 seconds.
PS classic: press and hold SELECT+ DOWN for 3 seconds.

For PS3 controller

1. Download and Run 8BitDo USB Adapter Tools on your PC available for Mac and PC.
2. On your Retro Receiver, hold down the pairing button and connect it to your MAC/PC via USB.
3. Connect your PS3 controller to MAC/PC via USB.
4. Once your Retro Receiver and PS3 controller are both connected via USB, click the “Pair” button in the software.
5. Once pairing is complete, you can insert your Retro Receiver into your console.
6. Now press the PS button on your PS3 controller.
7. Wait until your Retro Receiver’s LED is solid blue and the controller’s #1 LED stay on.
8. To re-sync after powering your console down, begin from step 6.

• Hot key: Reset= PS button, In game menu: L 1 + R1 + START

For 8Bitdo Controllers

SN3O Pro/N3O Pro2/SN3O v2:
1. Press B + START to turn on your SN3O Pro controller.
2. Press both PAIR buttons on the receiver and controller to sync them.
3. Both LEDs on the receiver and controller will become solid when they are successfully paired.

• Hot key: Reset= Horne, In game menu: L 1 + R1 + START

N3O Pro:
1. Press POWER to turn on your controller.
2. Press both PAIR buttons on the receiver and controller to sync them.
3. Both LEDs on the receiver and controller will become solid when they are successfully paired.

• Hot key: Reset= SELECT+ DOWN, In game menu: L 1 + R1 + START

N3O/F3O/SN3O/SF3O/Zero:
1. Press START to turn on your controller.
2. Press both PAIR button on the receiver and SELECT on the controller to sync them.
3. Both LEDs on the receiver and controller will become solid when they are successfully paired.

• Hot key: Reset= SELECT+ DOWN, In game menu: L + R + START

N30 Arcade Stick:
1.Press X + START to turn on your arcade stick.
2.Press both PAIR button on the receiver and arcade stick to sync them.
3.Both LEDs on the receiver and controller will become solid when they are successfully paired.

• Hot key: Reset= SELECT+ DOWN, In game menu: L 1 + R1 + START

For Wii Remote/Wii Motion Plus controller

1. Insert USB Adapter into console and then press the pairing button (the LED will rapidly blink)
2. Press the Wii Remote/Wii MotionPlus controller’s sync button.
3. Wait until your Retro Receiver’s LED is solid blue and the controller’s #1 LED stay on.
4. To re-sync after powering your console down.

• For Wii Remote: press 1 and 2 buttons.
• ForWii MotionPlus: press A button.
• Hot key: Reset= Home

For Wii U Pro controller

1. Insert USB Adapter into console and then press the pairing button (the LED will rapidly blink).
2. Press your Wii U Pro controller’s sync button.
3. Wait until your Retro Receiver’s LED is solid blue and the controller’s #1 LED stay on.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Question

Note: Xbox Bluetooth controllers on the latest firmware released in Sep, 2021 are NOT supported any longer, due to their bluetooth change from Classic to BLE.

*Other products which are affected by this change also include: USB Adapter, USB Adapter for PS classic, NES Receiver, SNES / SFC Receiver, Classic Receiver & MD Receiver.

How many controller can this USB adapter connect to at a time?

One controller at a time. If you wish to use multiple controllers at a time, you would need to use multiple adapters.

What should I do if a cursor appears on the screen?

Use SELECT+A+B+X+Y key command to hide it.

Is vibration supported on PS Classic?

No, it is not as PS Classic system does not have vibration function.

What systems does this USB adapter work with?

It works with Switch, Windows 10, PS Classic, Android, macOS, Raspberry Pi and Retrofreak.
*Systems which are not mentioned above are not compatible with this USB adapter.

What controllers is this adapter compatible with?

It works with DS4, DS3, Switch Pro, JoyCons (including NES and FC versions), Wii U Pro, Wii remote, as well as all 8BitDo Bluetooth controllers.
*Models which are not mentioned above are not compatible with this USB adapter.

Can I use more than one adapter on the same device at a time?

Yes, you can. If your device does not have enough USB ports, you can use a USB hub to connect multiple adapters.
*Just remember each adapter can only connect to one controller at a time.

Can I use a wired controller while using this adapter with a wireless controller on PS Classic?

Yes, you can.

What should I do when I plug in the USB adapter to my Switch, it shows the controller is successfully connected but nothing really happens when I press on any button?

Please make sure the ‘Pro Controller Wired Communication’ is on. If not, go to System Settings on your Switch and turn on ‘Pro Controller Wired Communication’.

How can I connect my PS4 controller back to my PS4 console after connecting it to the USB adapter?

Press and hold PS button on your PS4 till the controller turns off, then connect the controller to your PS4 via a USB cable, click on ‘OK’ to reconnect them.

How can I connect this USB adapter to a PS3 controller?

A. Download and run “Receiver/USB Adapter Tools for PS3” on your PC/Mac first
B. Take the USB adapter, hold down the pair button and connect it to your PC/Mac
C. Take your PS3 controller and connect it to your PC/Mac via USB
D. Click on ‘Pair’ in the software and wait till the pairing is completed
E. You can now plug the adapter to your chosen device and press the PS button on your PS3 to connect them
F. When connection is successful, LEDs on both USB adapter and PS3 will stay solid

Does this receiver support Turbo function?

Yes, it does. For instance, SN30 Pro has turbo function when put on X-input mode. So all you need to do is to turn on the controller by X+START key command (X-input mode key command), then press the pair button to pair it with the receiver. Once they are connected, the turbo function is activated automatically.
*Motion censor is not available here on X-input mode.

Does it work with Switch on both hand held and docked modes?

Yes, it does.
For hand held mode, you just need to use a USB Type-C Male to USB-A Female OTG cable to connect to our USB adapter.

Does it work with Bluetooth speakers, keyboards and mouses?

No, it does not.
