BOARD CARE, STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION

BOARD CARE:

  • This board is made of High-Density Polyethylene, a highly durable material that is difficult to puncture. However, due to the board’s matte finish, it can be susceptible to scratching and staining.
  • Rinse and completely dry your board and all accessories after each use. To clean dirt and debris, use a gentle sponge or cloth with mild soap/detergent. Avoid using abrasive materials that could scratch the surface and the graphics.
  • Always keep the hatch covers securely on whenever rinsing the board to avoid water entering the inside compartments.
  • If water enters the inside of the board, remove the hatch covers and use a cloth to absorb the water until the inside is completely dry.
  • Never assemble or disassemble your board in the water, and never put a disassembled section in the water. Always keep hatch covers securely on while the board is in water.
  • Keep the board clear of heat generating items such as camp stoves, propane lamps, etc.

BOARD STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION:

  • Rinse and completely dry the board and accessories before storing.
  • Remove the top-mount fin before transporting or storing the board. Dragging the board while the fin is mounted could result in the fin breaking or wearing down overtime.
  • Keep the board in the shade when it’s not in use. If the board will be exposed to prolonged sun, it is recommended to remove the hatch covers so air can freely flow throughout the inside compartments.
  • Store the board in a cool, dry space and avoid storing in extreme temperature conditions.
  • Due to the removable hatch covers, we strongly advise against transporting the Challenger on a roof rack.
  • We recommend using the latch caps when the board is disassembled during transit and storage to help protect the latches and the surfaces they make contact with from damage.
  • Always use caution when transporting and moving the disassembled board when the latches are unlocked. The latches are not flush with the board when they are in an unlocked position.
PERSONAL SAFETY GUIDELINES
  • Stand up paddle boarding carries inherent risks, unexpected dangers and other hazards. Always use caution while using this product.
  • Wear a US Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD) and an ankle leash at all times.
  • Users are accountable for their safety and that of others during product use. Never allow minors to use this board without proper supervision.
  • Know your limits! Be aware of your skill level and never use this board beyond your own ability.
  • Never use this board under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medications or any other substance that may impair your judgment and physical abilities.
  • It is always advisable to paddle board in pairs. If paddle boarding alone, share your location and when you plan to be back.
  • Check the weather forecast and water conditions before heading out.
  • Check your local laws and regulations regarding paddle boarding in specific areas.

Your board comes with a 4-piece convertible paddle set. Disassemble and rinse the paddle after each use, and allow it to dry before putting it back together.

To Assemble SUP Paddle:

  1. Carefully open the clips on both ends of the center shaft.

  2. Insert the T-bar handle on one end of the center shaft and the blade on the other.
Adjust the T-bar to the desired length and close the clips to securely lock the handle in place. The T-handle and blade must be lined up in the same direction.

  1. Carefully open the clips on both ends of the center shaft.

DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

(1) HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE BOARD

Disassemble your board on a flat surface. Follow the steps below in sequential order.
Let the board and accessories dry completely before transporting and storing.

1) REMOVE THE FIN
We recommend removing the fin while it is still submerged in shallow water to prevent damage. If the board is out of the water, prop the tail section to an elevated position until the fin is removed.
After stepping off the board, place one hand on the clip and one hand on the fin blade.
While pulling the clip back, push the blade up the fin box until it releases.

2) REMOVE THE PADDLE AND SEAT
Remove the paddle and seat (if applicable) from the board by releasing the clips and snap buttons, respectively.

3) UNLOCK 6 BOTTOM EXTERNAL LATCHES
Always begin with the bottom latches. To unfasten, lift the latch handle, undo the hook and raise the lever. It doesn’t matter which section you begin with, but unfasten the center latch first.

4) UNLOCK 4 TOP EXTERNAL LATCHES
Flip the board over carefully so it is deck-side up. Use caution placing it on the ground, as the bottom latches are now in the open position.
Follow the instructions on step 3 to unlock the 4 top latches. It doesn’t matter which section you begin with. Once all of the latches have been unlocked, the three pieces can be separated.

5) AFFIX THE LATCH CAPS
Once disassembled, affix the latch caps to the latches before transporting and storing to help protect the latches and the surfaces they make contact with from damage.
