CAUTION

  • High temperature, risk of fire, keep electrical cords, drapery, furnishings, and other combustibles at least 36 in. (915 mm) from the front of the heater. To reduce the risk of fire, do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of the heater.
  • In addition to ensuring that the clearance distances set out above are respected, ensure that the framing materials, insulation, and finishing which are likely to be in contact with or close to the device can withstand temperatures of at least 90 °C (194 °F).
  • WARNING: Do not install the unit directly on vinyl. This practice is strictly prohibited, as the heat generated by the unit may deform the vinyl.
  • Allow 6 ft. (1.83 m) minimum clearance from the floor. See Fig. 4.
  • Allow 1 in. (25 mm) minimum clearance below the heater and any fabric. See Fig. 4.
  • Allow 4 in. (102 mm) minimum clearance from drywall ceiling. See Fig. 4.
  • Allow 4 1/2 in. (114 mm) minimum from false ceiling, vinyl ceiling, and plastic molding. See Fig. 4.
  • Allow 1/2 in. (13 mm) minimum clearance between heaters.
  • Allow 36 in. (915 mm) minimum clearance between the heater and a device sensitive to heat of 40°C (104°F) and higher.
  • Do not use a plastic connector for direct connection to the heater. Use a power supply wire suitable for at least 90 °C (194 °F).
  • All wiring must be done by the national and local electrical codes and the heater must be grounded.
  • Disconnect all power supplies before working on any circuit.
  • Put all covers back on the heater before testing.

END-TO-END INSTALLATION

  1. Mount heaters allow adequate spacing of 1/2 in. (13 mm) minimum between heaters.

  1. Use 2 wall brackets for the 390W to 900W. Use 3 wall brackets for the 1050W and more. Fix wall brackets so that, once the heater is installed on the brackets, the length of the heater is supported at equal intervals.

  2. Fix the brackets with the provided wood screws. Use template provided to mark screw location depending upon type of ceiling. It is strongly recommended to fix supports of the unit on the internal structures of the wall.

  3. Install the wire connector (not supplied) in one of the knockouts onto the back shield.

  4. Attach the back shield to the brackets by tilting it back and allowing the bracket hook to enter the back shield slot then simply bring back the shield forward locking it into place. See Fig. 2.

  5. Insert the wiring in the junction box. Leave approximately 6 in. (152 mm) of wiring in the case to facilitate the wiring.
IMPORTANT : Use power supply wire suitable for at least 90 °C (194 °F).

  6. Add the screw to secure the whole. See Fig. 2.

  7. Complete the wiring. See Fig. 5.OUELLET-ORC-Series-Radiant-Cove-Heater-fig- \(3\)
