Functional Elements

  1. The bow hair is used to produce the sound. Slide the hair over the guitar strings with light pressure to generate sound.
  2. The aluminum bow stick supports the bow hair. The hair of the bow is introduced into a slit carved into both sides of the aluminum stick.
  3. A movable element is used to tighten and loosen the bow hair. The movable element slides up and down the aluminum stick to adjust the tension of the bow hair.
  4. The plastic grip is used to hold the bow. Hold the plastic grip with your hand and place your thumb on the inside back of the grip to control the bow effectively.
  5. The bow hair is extracted from the guitar bow when you want to change it or to tension the hair.
  6. Adjustment screw is used to tighten or loosen the bow hair to produce the desired sound tension.

Using the Bow

  1. Make sure the bow hair is sufficiently tense. Turn the adjustment screw to the right to increase tension or to the left to decrease it as necessary.
  2. Rub the colophony on both sides of the bow hair, applying several times to ensure good length of bow hair coverage.
  3. Place the microfiber cloth under the guitar mouth and the bow to avoid staining the instrument with colophony.
  4. Slide the bow hair over the guitar strings, holding the plastic grip of the bow with one hand and the bow hair with the other.
  5. Remove the plastic grip from the aluminum stick when you wish to change the bow hair.

Changing the Bow Hair

  1. Completely loosen the adjustment screw and turn it to the left to make it possible to obtain a single sound.
  2. Lift the aluminum stick and pull the adjustment screw towards the left to remove the bow hair.
  3. Remove the old bow hair by sliding the movable element down.
  4. Insert the new bow hair into the slit at the bottom of the aluminum stick and slide the movable element up.
  5. Insert the aluminum stick into the plastic grip from below.
  6. Tighten the adjustment screw until the bow hair has the initial tension.
