Operation

  1. Remove the battery compartment and insert a fully charged 9-V block battery with the correct polarity.
  2. Turn the rotary control to the [Battery Check] position to check the charge level.

Resting cables using banana plugs

  1. Insert two test lines in the sockets of the banana plugs.
  2. If there is a connection, you will hear a buzzing sound and see the yellow test LED light up.

Testing cables

  1. Insert the cable ends into corresponding sockets on the device for testing.

Q: How do I know if the battery is fully charged?

Intended use

  • This device serves as a multifunctional cable tester. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage.
  • No liability will be assumed for damage resulting from improper use.
  • This device may be used only by persons with sufficient physical, sensory, and intellectual abilities and the necessary knowledge and experience.
  • Other persons may use this device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.
  • Risk of injury and choking hazard for children!
  • Children can suffocate on packaging material and small parts. Children can injure themselves when handling the device. Never allow children to play with the packaging material and the device.
  • Always store packaging material out of the reach of babies and small children. Always dispose of packaging material properly when it is not in use.
  • Never allow children to use the device without supervision. Keep small parts away from children and make sure that the device does not shed any small parts (such as knobs) that children could play with.
  • Risk of fire due to incorrect polarity!
    • Incorrectly inserted batteries may cause fires and destroy the device and the batteries. Observe the markings on the batteries and the device. Ensure that proper polarity is observed when inserting batteries.
  • Possible damage due to leaking batteries!
    • Batteries can leak and cause permanent damage to the device. Remove the batteries from the device if it is not going to be used for an extended period.
  • Damage to the device if operated in unsuitable ambient conditions!
    • The device can be damaged if it is operated in unsuitable ambient condi-tions. Only operate the device indoors within the ambient conditions specified in the “Technical specifications”.
    • Avoid operating it in environments with direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and strong vibrations. Avoid operat-ing it in environments with strong temperature fluctuations.
    • If tempera-ture fluctuations cannot be avoided (for example after transport in low outside temperatures), do not switch on the device immediately.
    • Never subject the device to liquids or moisture. Never move the device to another location while it is in operation.
    • In environments with increased dirt levels (for example due to dust, smoke, nicotine, or mist): Have the device cleaned by qualified specialists at regular intervals to prevent damage due to overheating and other malfunctions.

General handling

  • To prevent damage, never exert force while operating the device.
  • Never immerse the device in water. Wipe only with a clean and dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners such as benzene, thinners or flammable cleaning agents Keep the device away from impurities!
  • Keep the device away from containers with liquid. Should liquid enter the device, this could lead to its destruction or fire. Ensure that no metallic parts enter the device.

  8. [Ground] | Ground LED. Turn the rotary control to the [Ground] position. If the LED lights up, there is a connection between the plug and the housing.
  9. [Battery Check] | Charge level indicator for the inserted 9-V block battery.
    • Turn the rotary control to the [Battery Check] position.
    • If the LED lights up, the battery is fully charged. If the battery is depleted, the LED does not light up and the battery has to be replaced.
  10. LEDs [1]…[5] | Test LEDs for contacts 1 to 5 to be tested of the respective connected plug.

Operation

Inserting a battery

  1. Remove the battery compartment from the device and insert a fully charged 9-V block battery in the battery compartment with the correct polarity. Then insert the battery compartment completely until it engages.
    • If the battery is inserted correctly you will hear a beeping noise.
  2. Turn the rotary control to the [Battery Check] position to display the battery charge level. If the LED lights up, the battery is fully charged. If the battery is depleted, the LED does not light up and the battery has to be replaced.

Resting cables through the banana plugs

  1. Insert two test lines in the sockets of the banana plugs.
  2. If there is a connection between the plugs, you hear a buzzing sound and the yellow test LED lights up.
  3. To test audio cables whose plugs are not compatible with the device, use a test pin. If there is a connection between the plugs, you hear a buzzing sound and the yellow test LED lights up.

Testing cables

  1. Insert the ends of the cable to be tested in the corresponding sockets on the sides of the device.
  2. Turn the rotary control to position [1] to test the connection of contact 1 of the plugs. If the yellow and green test LEDs light up simultaneously, contact 1 of the respective plug is OK.
    • If the test LEDs do not light up, this indicates that contact 1 of the plug is defective.
  3. Proceed as described under points 1 to 2 to test all remaining contacts of the plugs.

  • Environmentally friendly materials have been chosen for the packaging. These materials can be sent for normal recycling. Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly.

  • Do not dispose of your old device with your normal household waste; instead, deliver it for controlled disposal by an approved waste disposal firm or through your local waste facility. If in doubt, consult your local waste management facility
