MAKING ICE CREAM

Put the freezer bowl in a food grade plastic bag and place it upright in the freezer at 0F (-18Ȼ) or lower at least 10 hours before making ice cream. Longer freezing time will be better.
Chilling the ingredients before use will make the ice cream freeze faster and be ready to enjoy sooner.

  1. Fit the paddle to the motor unit until locked into place.

  2. Insert the plug into electrical outlet .

  3. Take out the freezer bowl from the freezer.

  4. Pour ice cream mixture or sorbet below MAX line into the freezer bowl. Do not fill the freezer bowl above the MAX line, as the ingredients will increase in volume during the freezing process.

  5. Flip the Power Switch to the ON position (׀ (to start the appliance. Insert the assembled motor unit / paddle into the freezer bowl. Make sure the motor unit covers the bowl tightly. Please note that Steps 4-5 must be taken without delay, otherwise it won’t be easy to insert the paddle into the bowl.

  6. Allow the mixture to churn until it freezes or reaches the desired consistency. This may take 20 minutes, but most recipes will be ready in a shorter time. The time depends on the recipe and volume of the dessert you are making. If you chill the ingredients in advance, the ice cream freezing time will be reduced.

  7. Flip the Power Switch to the OFF position (O) to turn off the appliance, and remove the motor unit from the bowl. After the ice cream maker has finished the  stirring cycle, add any desired chopped ingredients and stir for one minute. Chopped ingredients should be 5x5x5mm or smaller. To prevent damage to the bowl, do not use any metal utensils to scrape ice cream from the freezer bowl. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.

Note:

  • Please limit the number of times the unit is switched OFF during operation, as the mixture may freeze when it comes into contact with the bowl, preventing the movement of the paddle.
  • To avoid overheating the motor, the direction of rotation will change if the mixture becomes too thick.
  • In the rare instance of motor overheating, a safety cut-out will activate, causing the motor to stop. If this happens, please turn off and unplug the machine, and allow the motor unit to cool completely

Hints

  • Remove freezer bowl from the freezer after the recipe has been prepared, immediately before making ice cream. Do not let freezer bowl sit outside of the freezer for more than 5 minutes before making ice cream.
  • We recommend that you keep the freezer bowl in the freezer so that you can use it at any time.
  • Always make sure the freezer bowl is thoroughly dry before placing it in the freezer.
  • For best results always chill the ingredients before making ice cream.
  • The addition of alcohol to the ingredients will inhibit the freezing process.
