- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “OFF”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords may be used if care is taken in their use.
- For personal use only and not for use in a commercial setting.
- For added safety, always unplug the base from the electrical outlet when the kettle is empty, while filling the kettle with water, moving the kettle or while the kettle is not in use.
- Always use and store on a flat, level, stable surface, away from any ledge and out of direct sunlight.
- To allow optimal airflow and avoid overheating, always allow at least a 4-inch clearance on all sides when in use and while cooling down.
- Carefully position the power cord so no one can become entangled in the cord and so that the cord is not a tripping hazard.
- Do not fill with anything other than pure water.
- Do not brew tea or other beverages in the kettle as that can change the boiling characteristics of water and may cause overflowing.
- Do not operate when empty or without the minimum required water level (0.3-liter) or damage can occur.
- Do not fill above the maximum level indicated (1.0-liter). Overfilling can cause the boiling water to overflow.

- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
- The extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord;
- The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
CAUTION:
Only connect to a properly grounded outlet to prevent the risk of electric shock.
CAUTION:
To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another electrical appliance on the same outlet or circuit.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Carefully remove your product and all documentation from the box. Storing your product in its original box helps to protect it while not in use.
- The power cord is stored on the underside of the base. For safety reasons, only unwind enough of the power cord to reach the outlet and keep the power cord stored underneath when not in use.
- Remove the kettle from the base before filling or pouring.
- Use purified or deionized water, when possible, to minimize mineral build-up in the kettle.
- If water drips onto the base, wipe dry before placing the kettle on the base.
- Never touch the interior of the kettle or lid during or immediately following use. The exterior body and the handle will remain cool, however touching the stainless steel interior can result in scalds.
- Do not attempt to use the kettle without the lid secured on top of the kettle.
- The kettle turns off automatically when removed from the base.
- Be careful of steam coming from the spout, especially while pouring or if adding water immediately after boiling.
- Allow kettle to cool completely before opening lid to avoid hot condensation.
- Pour slowly and do not over-tilt to avoid the risk of splashing
- The Boil Dry Protection Sensor turns the kettle off automatically when it detects that the kettle is empty. If the Boil Dry Protection feature is activated, please allow the kettle to cool down at least 10 minutes before refilling.
- The kettle is only to be used with the power base provided.
KETTLE PREPARATION
Preparing your kettle for first time use:
- Remove the kettle from the base.
- Open the lid and fill the kettle with cold water until it reaches the interior MAX line.
- Close the lid, place the kettle onto the base and plug the power cord into an outlet.
- Press the ON/OFF switch into the ON position. The switch will illuminate blue and remain on until the water comes to a boil (212°F). Once the water boils, the kettle shuts off automatically in approximately 20 seconds, the indicator light turns off and the ON/OFF switch returns to the OFF position.
- Carefully remove the kettle from the base, discard the water and allow the kettle to cool for 1 minute.
- Repeat steps 1-5 again to remove any production residue from the interior of the kettle.
- Unplug the power cord and allow the kettle to cool completely.
NOTE : Do not consume the water used during the preparation process. It should be discarded immediately. While not harmful, this is the initial cleaning process and the water may taste unpleasant.
USING YOUR KETTLE
- Remove the kettle from the base.
- Open the lid and fill the kettle with cold water until it reaches the correct amount between 0.3-liter minimum and 1.0-liter maximum.
- Carefully remove the kettle from the base and pour water as needed.
- Return the kettle to the base.
- To reheat the water, refill if required and repeat steps 3-6.
- Unplug the power cord when done and allow the kettle to cool completely.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION FEATURE
If the kettle is empty or contains less than 0.3-liter of water, the BOIL DRY
PROTECTION SENSOR will activate, and the kettle will shut-off automatically.
This protects the kettle from damage due to overheating.
If this happens, please do the following:
- Lift the ON/OFF switch into the OFF position, if needed.
- Unplug the base.
- Wait at least 10 minutes for the temperature sensor to reset before attempting to use the kettle.
WARNING!
The sensor reset process is designed to protect the heating element and extend the life of your kettle. Do not attempt to cool the kettle faster by filling with cold water or by any other method. Doing so will reduce the life span of the kettle’s heating plate.
IMPORTANT!
You may see some discoloration on the bottom of the stainless steel kettle
interior over time. This is harmless and expected due to the bonding of the
heating element to the kettle floor.
Clean the stainless steel kettle interior using Barkeeper’s Friend Cleanser
and Polish. Refer to the “Cleaning and Maintenance” section of this manual.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
NOTE: Always unplug the base from outlet and let kettle cool completely
before cleaning.
Exterior Cleaning:
- Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use any abrasive cleansers or scouring pads as this will damage or scratch the surface.
- Clean the base with a damp cloth.
- Keep all connectors and sockets dry.
Interior Cleaning:
The interior of the Secura water kettle is made of high quality stainless steel. There is no plastic in contact with hot water, which provides you with safe daily use. To ensure that your kettle enjoys a substantially longer life and operates at maximum efficiency, we do not apply any coatings, since they can peel off or wear away. Cleaning is something that should be done regularly. We suggest that owners rely on Bar Keepers Friend Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish to keep the stainless steel interior in top condition. We also recommend the use of purified or deionized water for the least amount of mineral build-up on the interior.
- To remove stubborn spots/marks on the interior, wipe the surface with a slightly dampened cloth and a small amount of Bar Keeper’s Friend or other mild, non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner (following the instructions on the container). Rinse with water and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
- Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
- Do not open, change or service any parts yourself.
Removing Mineral Build-Up
Depending on the mineral content (also known as “hardness”) of the water you use, mineral build-up may occur on the inside of your kettle. This is normal even when using filtered water. For optimal performance, we recommend removing the mineral build-up. This can be done using the following decalcifying process:
-
Add plain water to half the capacity of the kettle.
-
Replace the lid and place the kettle on its base. Plug the power cord into an outlet and following the kettle’s operating instructions for boiling water.
-
Once the water boils and the kettle switches off, unplug the power cord from the outlet.
Warning : Hot condensation may accumulate in the lid. Use extreme caution when opening the lid to avoid burns and scalding. -
Add white vinegar to the kettle up to the MAX line. Hot vinegar-water mixture provides better descaling results. Make sure the mixture does not exceed the MAX line. Allow the mixture to soak overnight.
Warning : DO NOT plug in the kettle to heat or boil again after adding vinegar to the water, as the mixture will spill out of the kettle which could result in burns and damage. -
Carefully empty the kettle. Wipe the interior with a soft cloth, then rinse with water.
-
To make the interior of the kettle vinegar-free, fill the kettle with plain water until it reaches the interior MAX line and boil the water. After the kettle switches off carefully discard the water.
-
Once the kettle has cooled, dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the exterior black painted?****
Only the internal wall of stainless steel comes into contact with the water; the outside is made of plastic.
Is the latest Secura model truly made entirely of stainless steel? even the lid’s interior?****
The metal behind the cover and within the kettle itself has kept its brilliance after I used the Secura kettle for a few months, wiping it dry after use. The metal appears to be stainless steel, as claimed. Ask the manufacturer if it is made entirely of stainless steel.
How long does it take for the water in this kettle to boil?****
I’d estimate 3 to 4 minutes. I hadn’t anticipated how long it would take.
When the water is boiling, is the kettle noisy?****
No. I really enjoy it because it’s convenient and keeps my stove kettle from catching fire.
What size does the kettle have?****
It is 7 inches wide from handle to spout and 8 inches high. I also really like this tiny kettle. It looks fantastic and performs well.
Can I leave water in my electric kettle overnight?****
When you are not using an appliance, make sure to drain all of the water from it. Limescale buildup from storing water in the kettle harms the equipment. Emptying the kettle will extend the life of the device and stop limescale buildup.
How does an electric kettle automatically turn off?****
The thermostat (generally towards the base) receives steam from the top of the boiling interior through a conduit inside the kettle, which is typically inside the handle. As soon as boiling begins, the temperature rises quickly from around ambient to close to 100°C. The disc snaps as a result, cutting off the power.
How long does an electric kettle keep water hot?****
Your electric kettle’s model will determine the answer. The majority will continue to be heated for 30 to 60 minutes, but some may last up to two hours. The water retains its sterility for a predetermined period of time after reaching room temperature.
Can you heat other liquids in an electric kettle?****
Yes, you can also heat milk in a kettle. If there is any water in your kettle, just pour it off before adding the necessary amount of milk. You will need to pay closer attention when heating milk in your kettle as opposed to water, which is the only difference.
Can you reuse water in electric kettle?****
It’s important to note that reboiling water won’t do anything to completely pure, distilled, and deionized water. However, dissolved gases and minerals are present in regular water.
How does an electric kettle know when the water is boiled?****
The key, it turns out, is a bimetallic strip. The bimetallic strip will bend just enough at a specific temperature that, as soon as the water begins to boil, it will activate the mechanism that flicks the switch to the off position.
What method of heat transfer happens when the kettle was heated?****
When you boil water in a kettle, heat is transmitted from the fire to the pot through convection. The majority of pots don’t have metal handles since metal conducts heat, therefore you should be cautious when using them.
What temperature do electric kettles use?****
The majority of more expensive electric kettles offer temperature ranges from about 100 degrees Fahrenheit up to boiling temperature; some have preset temperatures, while others show the water’s actual temperature rising by 1, 5, or 10 degrees Fahrenheit steps.
What happens when water in a kettle is heated above boiling point?****
Water expands and evaporates as it is heated, becoming water vapour. It boils at 100°C and quickly evaporates after that. At the boiling point, steam, an invisible gas, is produced. Condensation, which occurs when water vapour returns to microscopic droplets of water, is the opposite of evaporation.
Does electric kettle keep water warm?****
They are frequently faster, quieter, and have automatic shut-off capabilities than stovetop kettles, allowing you to leave the kitchen risk-free while getting ready in the morning. The keep-warm feature on electric kettles, which keeps water hot for a lot longer than a normal kettle, is their most useful feature.
