Scope of delivery

Scope of delivery

For quality assurance reasons, each unit is subjected to a test run and filled with engine oil.
Before transport, the oil is drained again, but there may be residues of engine oil on the dipstick.

Inverter

The technology of the inverter generates the alternating voltage is generated with a clean sine wave. Therefore, inverter power generators are also suitable for sensitive electronic consumers such as computers computers or smartphones.

Use generator only for its intended purposes. Operate only on dry, level surfaces; do not operate the generator underground. Do not operate the generator in enclosed spaces.

Residual Risk

Even when the device is used properly and all safety regulations are complied with, there still may be some residual risks.

Risk of fire!

Never operate the unit near highly flammable materials. Fuel is highly flammable. Keep the fuel in suitable containers only. The appliance may only be refuelled outdoors and not near open fire or burning cigarettes. Emergency procedure After use, let the unit cool down for at least 10 minutes before refuelling.
Make sure the fuel does not overflow. If the fuel overflows, the engine must not be started. Remove any dirt from the appliance and prevent any attempt at ignition until fuel fumes have evaporated.. Replace all fuel tank and container caps securely. Fuel tank to be emptied outdoors only.

Risk of poisoning!

Exhaust gases, fuel and lubricants are toxic. Inhaling exhaust gases may be fatal! Do not operate the unit in closed spaces where dangerours carbon monoxide gases may accumulate.

Danger of burns!

Some parts of the appliance get too hot when the appliance is operated. Do not touch any hot parts, e.g. engine and muffler. Contacting hot parts of the unit may cause burns. Do not touch any hot parts, e.g. engine and muffler. Let the unit cool down after its operation is over.

Risk of electric shock.

Direct electrical contact may cause electric shock. Never touch the unit with wet hands.

Hearing damage

A longer stay in the immediate vicinity of the running unit may cause hearing damage. Wear ear protectors!

Conduct a first-aid procedure adequate to the injury and summon qualified medical attendance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from further harm and calm them down. If you seek help, state the following pieces of information:

General Safety Rules

WARNING

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Minimum safe distance is 5m.
Never let children work with the appliance. Never let adults work with the appliance unless they have been properly trained. Wear personal protective equipment.
No change can be made in respect of engine and unit setting.

It is strictly prohibited to disassemble, modify and purposely remove the protective equipment on the unit and fit other protective equipment instead.

The appliance must not be used if damaged or safety equipment is defective. Replace any worn-out and damaged parts.

Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel the engine only when switched off. The appliance may only be refuelled outdoors and not near open fire or burning cigarettes. Make sure the fuel does not overflow. If the fuel overflows, the engine must not be started. Remove any dirt from the appliance and prevent any attempt at ignition until fuel fumes have evaporated. Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this purpose; Oil products must not come into contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

When operating the generator in rooms with good ventilation, the exhaust gases must be channeled directly outdoors through an exhaust hose.

WARNING! Toxic exhaust gases can escape despite the exhaust hose. Due to the fire hazard, never direct the exhaust hose towards inflammable materials. The motor must not be operated with excessive rotary speed. The operation of the motorwith excessive rotary speed raises the risk of injury. Parts which affect the rotary speed must not be altered or replaced.

Electrical safety

Check the device and its electrical components (including cables and plug connections) before use to make sure that there are no defects present.
The power generator may not be connected to other power sources, such as the power supply of the public grid. In specific cases, where a back-up connection to existing electrical systems is provided for, this may be done only by a qualified electrician, who takes into account the differences between the equipment operated on the public grid and the operation of the power generator.

Do not connect the unit with other energy sources. Do not connect the unit to home network. Electric supply cables and connected equipment must be in perfect condition. Protection against electrical shock depends on circuit breakers specially matched to the generating set. If the circuit breakers require replacement they must be replaced with a circuit breaker having identical ratings and performance characteristics. Due to the high mechanical loads, use only hard-wearing rubber-cased cables (according to IEC 60245-4) or equi- valent. Extension cables (H07RN…) approved to be used outdoors and properly marked to be used outdoors only. The resistance value of 1.5 Ω may not be exceeded if extension cables or portable distributor systems are used. When using extension cables, their total length may not exceed 50 m in respect of 1.5 mm2 and 100 m in respect of 2.5 mm2. WARNING! Local regulations for electrical safety must be observed.

WARNING! Do not use in rainyor wet conditions. Do not touch bare wires or receptacles (outlets). Electrical equipment (including lines and plug connections) should not be defective.
Due to high mechanical stresses onlytough rubbersheathed flexible cable or the equivalent should be used.

The user that he shall conform to regulations of electrical safety applicable to the place where the generating sets are used. Before using the ground terminal, consult a qualified electrician or electrical inspector for local applicable regulations.

Before start-up

Safe operation requires sufficient operator knowledge of the functions and positions of the controls and indicators or meters. Pay attention to the illustrated pages in the front section of the manual. The appliance should only be used when in a perfect state. Carry out a visual inspection before switching the appliance on. Check especially the safety equipment, electrical control elements, power lines and screw couplings for any damage and if they are tightened appropri- ately. Replace any damaged parts before the appliance is put into operation if necessary. The unit may only be operated in the operating position (flat surface) as fuel or oil may leak or lubrication will no longer be provided. Check the petrol and oil levels and top up if necessary top up.

CAUTION:
When starting up the generator for the first time petrol and engine oil must be filled. (p. 3-6)

Earth the generator. Before using the earth terminal the earth terminal 5 to a qualified electrician, to find out the locally applicable regulations. Always place the appliance on a firm and level surface! surface! Turning and tilting or changing the location during operation are prohibited.

Starting the engine (p. 9)

The power generator has a low oil fuse. If the oil level is too low, it is not possible to start the unit (when trying to start, the oil indicator light 7 lights up).

Warning: When starting with the reserve starter, injuries to the hand can occur due to sudden recoil caused by the starting engine.

Wear protective gloves!

  • Switch the engine switch 6 to ON
  • Pull out the choke 1 (not necessary with a warm start)
  • Turn the fuel tap knob 2 to ON.
  • Start the engine with the reversing starter by pulling once with little force and a second time strongly. If the engine does not start, pull again.
  • When the engine is running, push the choke back in. (not applicable for warm start)

Operation

Generators may only be operated up to their rated power under the rated ambient conditions. The unit must not be exposed to moisture or dust. Permissible ambient temperature -5° to +40°, altitude: 1000 m above sea level, relative humidity: 90% (non-condensing). If these values are not observed, there may be a loss of performance. Do not operate the generator in a potentially explosive environment and never cover it.

Caution: Before use, always check whether the consumer is suitable for operation with a generator. Always coordinate the technical data of the consumer with the data and safety instructions of the generator.

Do not exceed the maximum load of the generator. Both in terms of maximum power and continuous power. Note here the possibly high starting current of the consumers.
When connecting several consumers, the consumer with the highest starting current must be connected and started first. The consumer with the lowest starting current last.

  • Let the generator run for a few minutes before connecting electrical devices.
  • Do not connect the load until the generator is running at full speed.
  • Do not overload the generator by connecting more electrical devices than the unit can handle.
  • Do not switch on electrical appliances until they have been connected to the generator.
  • Switch off all connected electrical equipment before stopping the generator.
  • The indicator light 9 is on while the generator is running.

Never connect the generator to the house mains!

Switch off the generator (p. 10)
  • Disconnect all connected loads.
  • Let the generator run for a while without load to cool down.
  • Turn the engine switch 6 to OFF.
  • Turn the fuel tap knob 2 to OFF.
Overload protection 8

The power generator is equipped with overload protection. This switches off the respective sockets in the event of an overload. Attention! Should this occur, switch off the unit and reduce the electrical power that you draw from the power generator or remove defective connected devices. Check the air filter for impurities and remove them if necessary.
Switch off the unit immediately under the following conditions and contact our service department:

  • if the engine runs unevenly or not at all smoothly
  • in the event of a decrease in the electrical output power
  • overheating of the connected load
  • Excessive vibrations of the generator
  • in the event of sparking
  • in the event of smoke or fire
  • in the event of unusual vibrations or noises
  • if the engine appears to be overloaded or misfires.

It is possible that the indicator lamp for the overload protection lights up briefly when you operate a consumer with increased starting current. This is not a malfunction.

Transportation and Storage

Before transport, turn the fuel tap to “Off” and remove the spark plug. During transport, secure the unit against slipping and tipping.
During transport, make sure that no fuel or oil can leak out. When transporting the machine, use only the transport devices. Store the machine in a dry place.
Do not park the machine indoors immediately after switching it off, but allow it to cool down outdoors. Do not operate or store the machine in wet or dampenvironments or on well-conducting surfaces such as metal coatings or steel structures.

Maintenance

        Switch the engine off and remove the socket plug before any work on the engine. Wait until the unit has cooled down.

Carry out a visual inspection before switching the appliance on. Keep the device, in particular the air vents, clean at all times. Never spray water on the device body! Do not clean the plastics with solvents, flammable or toxic fluids. For cleaning, use a damp cloth only. Repairs and works specified in these Instructions may only be performed by qualified authorised staff. Use only original accessories and original spare parts.Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can serve as a satisfactory aid. Insufficient maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries. If necessary, a list of spare parts can be found at www.guede.com.

Disposal

Any damaged or disposed devices must be delivered to appropriate collection centres. Petrol, oil and similar substances must not be released into the environment. Make sure the oil products do not enter the soil.

Guarantee

Warranty period of 12 months applies to commercial use and 24 months applies to private use and commences on the day of purchase of the device.
The guarantee solely covers inadequacies caused by material defect or manufacturing defect. Original payment voucher with the sales date needs to be submitted for any claim in the guarantee period.
The guarantee does not cover any unauthorised use such as appliance overloading, use of violence, damage as a result of any unauthorised interference or caused by foreign items. Failing to follow the operating and assembly instructions and common wear are also not included in the guarantee.

Important information for the customer

Please note that returns within or outside the warranty period should always be in the original packaging. This measure effectively avoids unnecessary transport damage and any associated disputed ruling. Your equipment is optimally protected only in the original box, and keeping it in that box will ensure smooth processing.
