Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preparation
- Before starting the installation, ensure you have all the necessary tools and parts as shown in the package contents illustration.
- Read the user manual thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the pump’s features and safety instructions.
- Positioning the Pump
- Correct Placement: Place the pump in the lowest part of the sump basin. Ensure it stands upright and is level (as shown on the left side of the first image).
- Incorrect Placement: Avoid placing the pump on an uneven surface or tilting it (as shown on the right side of the first image). An unbalanced pump can lead to malfunction or failure.
- Connection
- Attach the discharge pipe securely to the pump using the provided adapter. Make sure the connection is tight to prevent leaks.
- The discharge pipe should direct water away from the foundation of your home (as shown in the second image).
- Power Supply
- Plug the pump into a grounded 110-120V electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords to prevent power loss and potential hazards (as shown in the third image).
- Ensure the cord is positioned in a way that it doesn’t interfere with the pump’s operation or get submerged in water.
- Operation
- Automatic Mode: The pump will automatically turn on when the water level rises and turn off once the water is pumped out. The float switch should move freely without any obstructions.
- Manual Mode: In manual mode, you can control the pump using the power button. Ensure that the grain size of debris is no larger than 1/5 inch to avoid clogging the pump.
- Proper Usage Tips
- Do not hang the pump by its power cord. Use a rope or chain to lower and raise the pump if necessary.
- The maximum submersion depth should not exceed 23 feet. Ensure the pump is at least 12 inches away from the basin walls to allow for proper water flow and to avoid interference with the float switch.
Maintenance
Disconnect Power
- Before performing any maintenance, always disconnect the pump from the power source to ensure safety (as shown in the first image).
- Step 1: Unplug the pump from the electrical outlet (A).
- Step 2: Ensure that the power supply is completely off (B).
Cleaning the Pump
- Exterior Cleaning: Regularly inspect and clean the exterior of the pump to remove dirt and debris.
- Step 3: Use a brush or sponge with water to clean the outer surface of the pump. Avoid using harsh chemicals that might damage the pump (as shown in the second image).
Disassembling for Interior Cleaning
- Step 4: Remove the screws and the cover to access the interior parts of the pump.
- Use a screwdriver to carefully remove the screws (as shown in the third image).
- Lift off the cover to expose the impeller and other internal components.
Cleaning the Interior Components
- Step 5: Clean the impeller and other internal parts using a brush and water.
- Ensure all debris is removed from the impeller and surrounding areas to maintain optimal performance.
- Reassemble the pump by replacing the cover and tightening the screws securely.
Inspecting and Replacing the O-Ring
- Step 6: Inspect the O-ring for any signs of wear or damage.
- If the O-ring appears worn or damaged, replace it with a new one to ensure a proper seal (as shown in the fourth image).
Reassembly
- Step 7: After cleaning and inspecting all components, reassemble the pump.
- Replace the cover and secure it with the screws.
- Ensure all parts are properly aligned and tightened to prevent leaks and ensure efficient operation.
Testing
- Step 8: After reassembly, test the pump by plugging it back into the power source and running a cycle with water to ensure it operates correctly.
- Check for any leaks or unusual noises that might indicate a problem.
