DESCALE YOUR APPLIANCE
If the appliance switches off before the water boils, it means descaling is required. Descale your kettle periodically, as minerals dissolved in the tap water can form limescale on the bottom of the kettle, which reduces the water heating efficiency. You can use a commercially available descaler and follow the instructions on its packaging. You can also use white vinegar and follow the instructions below.
- Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and then add water until it completely covers the limescale. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
- Then pour the mixture out of the kettle, fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum level, bring it to a boil and then pour out the water. Repeat several times until the smell of vinegar disappears. Any limescale residue inside the spout can be removed by wiping with a damp cloth.
