Setting Up Your Keyboard
Connect the USB cable (Q) to the keyboard USB Type-C port (N) and to an available USB 3.0 or better Type-A port on a compatible device including:

  • Microsoft Xbox One*
  • Microsoft Xbox Series X | S*
  • Sony PlayStation 4**
  • Sony PlayStation 5**

*Keyboard is compatible out of the box, see corsair.com/xbox-support for details. **See Connecting to Sony PlayStation section.

Factory Reset
Hold the ESC key while plugging in the USB cable (Q) to your system, then release the ESC key after two seconds. The keyboard will then power on normally and be reset to factory defaults.

Connecting to Sony PlayStation

  • Shortcut: FN + (Hold for 5 sec)
  • Function: Switch to PlayStation Mode
  • On-Key Indication: Blinks White
  • Function: Switch back to standard mode
  • On-Key Indication: Slow Pulses White

Software Mode
When iCUE is running, the keyboard operates in software mode and is controlled by iCUE. Download iCUE from corsair.com/downloads and install on a Windows PC or Apple Mac to connect all of your CORSAIR iCUE compatible products together in a single interface, giving you complete control of everything from lighting to powerful macros.

Hardware Mode
When iCUE is not running or the keyboard is connected to a device that does not support iCUE, the keyboard operates in hardware mode which uses profiles and settings saved to the onboard storage. With iCUE and AXON Hyper-Processing Technology, you can create as many custom profiles as can fit onto the 8MB of onboard storage. Each profile can store complex backlighting effects (up to 20 layers), actions & macros, and The number of lighting effects layers per profile and total number of profiles that can be saved to onboard storage will vary based on complexity.

Actuation Calibration & Adjustment
CORSAIR MGX magnetic-mechanical switches offer a super smooth linear feel that can be programmed to detect the keystroke at anywhere from a 0.4mm to 3.6mm actuation distance, putting you in full control over how sensitive each keypress is to ensure the gaming and typing experience is suited to you.

First, calibrate your new keyboard:

  1. Hold FN + for 2 seconds until keyboard lighting turns off except for ESC, F1-F12, and Win Lock
  2. Hold Profile for 2 seconds

How do I switch between profiles?
You can switch between profiles using the Profile Switch Hotkey (A) on the keyboard.

How do I adjust the brightness of the keyboard backlight?
You can adjust the brightness using the Brightness Hotkey (B) on the keyboard.

How do I lock the Windows key?
You can lock the Windows key using the Windows Lock Hotkey (C) on the keyboard.

How do I record macros?
You can record macros using the Macro Record Indicator (D) on the keyboard.

How do I mute the volume?
You can mute the volume using the Volume Mute Hotkey (K) on the keyboard.

What is Tournament Mode?
Tournament Mode is indicated by the Tournament Mode Indicator (O) on the keyboard. It disables certain keys to prevent accidental inputs during gaming tournaments.

In software mode with iCUE you get access to even more powerful control to further fine-tune actuation settings in 0.1mm increments from the full 0.4mm to 3.6mm range which can be saved per profile and assign actions to a secondary actuation for rapid fire combos or advanced walk-run movement.

RAPID TRIGGER
Rapid Trigger is a mode that enables faster reset and presses of keys that can be enabled via a hardware shortcut. Press FN + to toggle on and off Rapid Trigger. By default, K70 MAX comes with Rapid Trigger turned off.

AXON HYPER-PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY
CORSAIR AXON delivers a powerful and responsive keyboard experience with:

Can be programmed in iCUE to also disable other contextual menu keypresses. Holding this key enters macro recording mode.

MACRO RECORDING
Macros can be recorded at any time via the below process. In hardware mode your macros are recorded to onboard storage and in software mode your macros are recorded to the current iCUE profile.

Hotkeys cannot be recorded over with onboard macro recording

NOTE : Saving a macro to a key or existing shortcut will overwrite that function until cleared.

Keyboard lighting effects can be controlled via the onboard shortcuts below when iCUE is not running or the keyboard is connected to a device that does not support iCUE.

TOURNAMENT SWITCH

The Tournament Switch (P) is located on the backside of the keyboard and when turned on puts the keyboard into a competition compliant mode that:

  • Disables custom actions and macros to prevent accidental activation
  • Changes backlighting to static single color to reduce distraction
  • Offers standard operation without profiles and profile switching

To enable Tournament Mode:

  1. Move the switch to the right position*
  2. Flip up the switch cover to lock into place
    • Indicator (O) will light up red when enabled
