Safety instructions

  • Failure to comply with these instructions may result in damage to the device, fire, or other hazards.
  • During the charging process, magnetic fields are generated which may affect pacemakers or other implanted devices. Contact the manufacturer of the implant before commissioning/using the device.
  • These instructions are an integral component of the product and must be retained by the end user.

Usage instructions

  • Only suitable for indoor applications.
  • Suitable for surface or sub-surface installation.
  • When installing as a surface charger, please use PuK 2 wireless charger only with top plate.
  • When installing the PuK 2 wireless charger sub-surface, please install under at least 2 mm. and at most 3 mm. material.
  • Not suitable for sub-surface installation in metallic materials or materials with a metallic coating.
  • Care must be taken to ensure that no metallic objects are lying on the wireless charger.
  • Only use the original power adapter supplied with the charger.
  • Do not use any extension cables.

Compatibility

The PuK 2 wireless charger is compatible with Qi certified devices and with most lightweight cases (< 3 mm).
Any cases with metal inside (e.g. magnets, bankcards, etc.) or a metal lining need to be removed before charging.

  • PuK 2 wireless charger
  • Top plate for surface installation
  • Power supply with DC plug interface
  • Mounting set* for installation (screws and self-adhesive clips)
  • Mold for installation

Installation location selection

When selecting the installation location, make sure:

  • There is enough room to place devices on the charging point.
  • There are no sources of water or other fluids nearby.
  • There are no metallic objects nearby.
  • There are no heat sources nearby.
  • The material thickness of the mounting surface is adequate in the case of sub surface installation (see page 4).

  1. Use the mold to mark the position of the PuK 2 wireless charger.
  2. Make a sub-surface recess of Ø 81 mm. into the mounting surface from below. When implementing the sub-surface recess make sure that:
    • The depth of the recess is at least 16 mm. so the clamping lugs can clamp the charging unit sufficiently.
    • The thickness of the remaining material over the recess does not exceed the minimum of 2 mm. and the maximum of 3 mm. (see page 4).
  3. Insert the PuK 2 wireless charger (A) straight into the recess from below. Make sure no open space is left between the PuK and the top surface (see page 6).
  4. The PuK 2 wireless charger can be fixated in place by inserting the two enclosed screws into the grooved clamping lugs. Fasten the screws carefully until the clamping lugs grip on th edges of the opening.
  5. Use the self-adhesive cable clips to secure the cable.
  6. Measure the exact center point of the recess. Place the sticker exactly in the center position on the top surface above the recess to indicate the charging point (see page 10).
  7. Connect the charger cable to the power adapter and plug the adapter into the nearest, suitable power socket.

  1. Use the mold to mark the position of the PuK 2 wireless charger.
  2. Make an opening of Ø 81 mm. in the mounting surface.
  3. Place top plate (B) onto the PuK 2 wireless charger (A) and gently press down until it snaps into place.
  4. Insert the PuK 2 wireless charger with attached top plate from above into the opening and press down gently. Optional: remove the protective film from the self-adhesive edge on the bottom of the top plate (B) before placing the PuK 2 wireless charger in the opening.
  5. The PuK 2 wireless charger can be fixated in place by inserting the two enclosed screws into the grooved clamping lugs. Fasten the screws carefully until the clamping lugs grip on the edges of the opening.
  6. Use the self-adhesive cable clips to secure the cable.
  7. Connect the charger cable to the power adapter and plug the adapter into the nearest, suitable power socket.

Charging a device

  • The PuK 2 wireless charger may only be used to charge Qi compatible devices.

  • Place the device on the charging point, indicated by the top plate (B) or sticker (C), in such a way the receiving coil is positioned centrally on the wireless charger.

  • The device displays the charging progress.

  • The position of the charging system in the device may vary depending on the manufacturer and model.
Please observe the instructions of the device. If charging does not work, keep adjusting the position of the device until the device displays the charging process.

  • The charging process may result in the device getting slightly warm.

Cleaning the top plate

  • Unplug the power adapter from the socket outlet.
  • Wipe the top plate (B) with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not allow any moisture to get into the device.
  • Dry the top plate (B) completely with a dry cloth.
  • Plug the power adapter back into the socket outlet.
