SHORT CORD PURPOSE
Note: A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
Longer power-supply cords or extension cords may be used if care is exercised
in their use.
If an extension cord is used: (1) the marked electrical rating of the
extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the
product; (2) the extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape
over the counter top or tabletop where it can unintentionally be pulled on or
tripped over by children or pets.
POLARIZED PLUG
If this appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other), please follow the below instructions:
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to fit the plug into the
electrical outlet, try reversing the plug.
If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the
plug with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted into the
extension cord. Do not alter the plug of the product or any extension cord

the polarized plug.

PARTS IDENTIFICATION
PFOA-FREE NONSTICK COATING
The cooking surface is coated with a PFOA-Free nonstick finish. This minimizes
the need for oil, prevents food from sticking, and makes cleaning easier.
Do not use metal cooking utensils or abrasive cleaning tools on nonstick
surfaces as they will damage the coating. Use only warm soapy water and remove
stubborn residue with a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or nylon brush.
NOTE: Do not use nonstick cooking spray as they can impact the performance of
the nonstick surface.
BEFORE FIRST USE
-
Clean the griddle surface with a damp cloth to wipe off dust or any unwanted residue.
-
NEVER soak the unit in water and NEVER use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the non-stick surface as they might damage the coating.
-
Apply a light coat of cooking oil to the non-stick surface of the griddle.
-
Plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet and set the temperature to 445°F for approximately 3-5 minutes.
NOTE: The initial first use may result in minimal smell and smoke. This is caused by the unit burning off the protective coating that is applied during manufacturing. It is normal and harmless. -
After the allotted time, turn the thermostat to “OFF” position then unplug the cord.
-
Detach the cord from the griddle and let the unit cool down.
HOW TO USE
- Turn the temperature dial to OFF position.
- Connect the temperature control probe to the receptacle with the temperature dial facing upwards.
- Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet.
- Set the temperature dial to the desired temperature.
TEMPERATURE (approximate)| INTENDED USE
---|---
OFF| Appliance off
<200°F| Keep warm
210°F| Toasts, hamburgers, omelets
300°F| Fried eggs, pancakes
390°F| Bacons, sausages
445°F| Steaks, meat
- The temperature indicator light lights up when the temperature is set or adjusting to a higher level. Once the desired temperature is reached, the indicator light cycles during use, indicating the selected temperature is being maintained. When adding food, the indicator light lights up briefly as the overall cooking temperature is reduced.
- Preheat the appliance for 5 – 10 minutes or until the indicator light goes out.
- When grilling has finished turn the temperature dial to Off position. Then empty the appliance with a suitable non-metallic utensil to avoid damaging the non-stick surface.
NOTE: Only use nylon or heat-proof plastic cooking utensils.
Metal utensils may scratch the non-stick surface.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the appliance while in use. During use the appliance becomes hot.
When using the appliance always wear kitchen mittens.
COOKING TIPS:
- Use cooking spray with fish, lean meats or vegetables.
- When using wooden or bamboo skewers when cooking kebobs, it is highly recommended to soak the skewers in water for 10 minutes. This will prevent the skewers from scorching or burning during the cooking process.
WARNINGS:
- Always use caution when cooking. Hot oil, grease or juices may splatter when cooking.
- Do not touch any hot surfaces.
- Do not cut food on the griddle during the cooking process.
- It is recommended to not use metal utensils to handle food.
