With dual adjustable temperature knobs that have Low, Med, and Hi settings, it heats up quickly at 1,500 watts. Power indicator lights provide additional security. With the non- stick cast iron hot plates, cooking will be even and cleanup will be simple. It is the ideal addition to any cook’s collection because it is small enough to fit in a cabinet but fashionable enough to display.

IMPORTANT  SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric hazard and injury to persons, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions before operating.
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or appliance itself in water or any other liquid.
  4. It is not recommended that children operate this appliance.
  5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.

  8. Do not use outdoors.
  9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
  10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  11. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to OFF position, then remove plug from wall outlet.

  17. CAUTION: DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.

SHORT CORD  PURPOSE

NOTE
A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

Longer power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

If an extension cord is used:  (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the product; (2) the extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can unintentionally be pulled on or tripped over by children or pets.

POLARIZED PLUG

If this appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other), please follow the below instructions:

To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.  If you are unable to fit the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug.  If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.  Never use the plug with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted into the extension cord.  Do not alter the plug of the product or any extension cord being used with this product. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

Frequently Asked Questions

To keep some food warm, I would probably only use this near the table in a small skillet (e.g., naan). It seems to be appropriate for that use?

This is what I use to warm up a metal coffee carafe. Good results. I will also use it to keep other things warm if necessary. I didn’t buy it to use for cooking or heating.

Exactly how durable is it? How durable is the item?

I thought its size and weight were appropriate for steel cooking pots. I haven’t used it to cook with very large pots or cast iron skillets because doing so seems risky for any portable stove. It is not flimsy: the legs are strong, the dial is not shaky or loose, and the base is solidly joined to the cooking surface. It was excellent for two months before it suddenly stopped working. I believe it has a loose internal connection or a non-resettable fuse based on complaints from reviews of comparable rival models. That must be interrupting the current in some way.

Does this hot plate’s bottom become warm?

It makes a small amount of heat, but not enough to damage a countertop. To simply keep the counter clean, I placed a piece of aluminum foil underneath.

Will it become too hot if I try to keep a cup of coffee warm on it?

Think you can if you keep the temperature as low as possible. However, if all you need is something to keep your mug warm, this is not the item you need. This gets extremely hot and is similar to a real hotplate. I don’t believe this is the best option if you are using a ceramic mug.

Can candy be made with it?

It is possible to use it to make candy.

Is this a hotplate without a cord?

The hot plate is cordless and cooks exceptionally well for its size.

What type of current is this? 220v or 110v

110v

Is this pluggable?

It does indeed plug into a typical wall socket.

How is the battery operated?

It is electric. It does not operate on batteries and has wire.

Is the height of the two burners the same? Could I lay a big griddle across both of them evenly?

Yes. I’m unsure if they heat uniformly. Even on high, the small burner seems to produce less heat.
