Product Usage Instructions

To Mount the Orbiter Beam
Caution: Risk of falling components. Always secure the Orbiter Beam against falling with a safety cable if the primary catch fails!

To Focus the Light Beam
Automatic Optic Recognition: The digital optics interface of the Quick Lighting Mount recognizes the optic attached to the luminaire. It adapts the light output for best performance of the attached optic. If the digital optics interface fails to recognize the attached optic correctly, please clean the contacts as described in the Orbiter Safety and Installation Manual available for free download on the ARRI website.

To Remove the Orbiter Beam Optic
Remove three snoot fixing screws (4) to detach the optic from the luminaire.

Q: What is the intended use of this product?

Intended use

This product is an accessory optic for the „Orbiter“ luminaire. It is intended to illuminate persons and objects in long throw applications.

Always follow the safety information.
Any usage other than described above is not permitted. It can damage the product and lead to associated risks such as short-circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. You are not allowed to modify the product.
This product fulfills all legal requirements.

Safety Instructions

Caution! Hot reflectors. Risk of skin burns.

The reflectors are hot when in use. Never touch a reflector to avoid skin burns.

Advice. Sensitive surface.
Never touch the reflectors with bare skin as grease, perspiration and moisture might destroy the sensitive surface of the reflectors within a short time.

ARRI is not liable for damages caused by improper use or incorrect operation.

To Mount the Orbiter Beam

  • Loosen the snoot and remove the snoot.
  • Mount the snoot facing away from the Quick Lighting Mount and fasten three snoot fixing screws (4).
  • Secure the snoot with a suitable safety cable. Pass the safety cable through the handle (9) of the reflector assembly and one of the safety loop attachments (10) of the snoot.
  • Remove the protective cap from the Quick Lighting Mount.
  • Align the locking pin (8) with the guide for the locking pin(12). Insert the Orbiter Beam in the Quick Lighting Mount.
  • Turn the Orbiter Beam clockwise, until the locking slider (11) audibly engages.
  • Secure the Orbiter Beam with a suitable safety cable. Pass the safety cable through the safety loop attachment (9) and the upper handle of the Orbiter.

Caution! Risk of falling components.
Always secure the Orbiter Beam against falling with a safety cable if the primary catch fails!

To Focus the Light Beam

  • Adjust the focus with the thumb screw (3).

Automatic Optic Recognition
The digital optics interface of the Quick Lighting Mount recognizes the optic attached to the luminaire. It adapts the light output for best performance of the attached optic.
If the digital optics interface fails to recognize the attached optic correctly, please clean the contacts. The procedure is described in the Orbiter Safety and Installation Manual. It is available for free download on the ARRI website www.arri.com.

To Remove the Orbiter Beam Optic

  • Remove the safety cable from the Orbiter Beam.
  • Push the locking slider (11) inwards. Turn the Orbiter Beam counterclockwise until it stops.
  • Remove the Orbiter Beam. Place the protective cap on the Quick Lighting Mount.
  • Remove the safety cable between the snoot and the reflector assembly.
  • Loosen three snoot fixing screws (4) and remove the tube.
  • Mount the snoot facing away from the reflector and fasten three snoot fixing screws (4).

Maintenance and Cleaning

Inspect the product regularly for visible damage.

  • Do not use a damaged or deformed product.
  • Do not use a product with a defective safety loop attachment or safety cable. Repair the defective component immediately.
  • The coating of the reflectors is extremely sensitive. Only clean the reflectors with dry, oil-free compressed air at low pressure. Gently dab off stuck particles with a cotton swab moistened with a mild detergent.
  • Clean the housing with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
