How it works

First time set up

  1. Remove the battery-insulating pull tab. You will hear a Beep” sound indicating “My Finder Coin” is ready for use.
    • Important remark: After removing the pull tab the recognition mode is only active for about 8 minutes to save battery. To reactivate the recognition mode please remove and reinsert the battery.
  2. Open Find My app, choose “Devices” and tap “+” then choose “Add Other Item”
  3. Choose “My Finder Coin” and tap “Connect
  4. Type a name and tap “Continue
  5. Select an emoji, then tap “Continue”.
  6. The Find My app will ask for confirmation to add “My Finder Coin tap “Agree
  7. Tap “Finish” to complete the setup.

Tracking items

See your items on the map.

  1. Open the Find My app.
  2. Choose the name set up with “My Finder Coin” from the Items list.
  3. The emoji of the selected item will be displayed on the map.

Play a sound

  1. If you know the item is nearby but cannot locate it, you can play a sound on the “My Finder Coin” to find its location.
  2. Open the Find My app.
  3. Choose the name set up with “My Finder Coin” from the Items list.
  4. Tap “Play Sound”; “My Finder Coin” will emit a “beep” sound for about 20 seconds.
  5. To stop the sound, tap “Stop Sound Playing”.

Lost mode

  1. Open the Find My app.
  2. Choose the name set up with “My Finder Coin” from the Items list.
  3. Scroll down to “Lost Mode” and tap “Enable”.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap “Continue”
  5. Follow the screen prompts to enter your contact information. This will be displayed if someone else finds your “My Finder Coin” via their own Find My app.
  6. Tap “Activate”
  7. Lost mode” will show “Enabled Now

Rename or Remove My Finder Coin from the Find My app

  1. Open the Find My app.
  2. Choose the name set up with “My Finder Coin” from the Items list.
  3. Scroll down to “Rename Item” to Rename.
  4. Scroll down to “My Finder Coin” and “Remove Item” to Remove from the Find My app.

how to use the protective case

  2. Inserting the Coin: Place your “My Finder Coin” into the larger half of the case, ensuring the coin’s front is face down.

Changing Battery

  1. Twist the bottom anti-clockwise and open the bottom cover.
  2. Replace the battery
  3. Replace the bottom cover with the three slots aligned to the main compartment.
  4. Twist the bottom clockwise to fix the bottom cover and make sure the bottom cover is attached tightly to the main compartment.

(Use only one battery type CR2032)

Resetting My Finder

Take out the existing battery from “My Finder Coin”.

Then repeat the steps 5 times:

  1. Put the battery into the compartment again.
  2. My Finder Coin” will emit a sound.
  3. Remove the battery once you hear the sound.

After you repeat all 3 steps 5 times, “My Finder Coin” will emit a “Beep” sound twice in quick succession, indicating the “My Finder Coin” is ready for use once again.

Safety Instructions

  • Safely replace and dispose of button batteries immediately.
  • Old or spent button batteries can still pose a threat, so dispose of them immediately.
  • Change button batteries on a flat surface, away from children, to avoid them rolling into places children can reach.
  • As soon as you have finished using a button battery, put sticky tape around both sides of it. This will make it harder for children to swallow the button battery and avoid the risk of the battery catching fire.
  • Dispose of button batteries immediately in an outside bin, or put them in a child-resistant container, out of reach of children, and recycle them at your nearest drop-off point, taking your container home for reuse.
  • Store button batteries out of reach of children.
  • Keep new and always used batteries out of sight and out of reach of young children.
  • Keep spare button batteries locked away where it is difficult for children to reach them – lock boxes secure cupboards or high spaces are perfect for this.

  • Verbatim warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase.
    This warranty excludes batteries.

  • If this product is found to be defective within the warranty period, it will be replaced at no cost to you.

  • You may return it with your original cash register receipt to the place of purchase or contact Verbatim.

  • Product replacement is your sole remedy under this warranty, and this warranty does not apply to normal wear or damage resulting from abnormal use, misuse, abuse, neglect, or accident, or to any incompatibility or poor performance due to the specific computer software or hardware used.

Australian Consumer Law ACL

  • As a manufacturer and supplier, Verbatim Australia provides an assurance to consumers about what we will do if a defect occurs with a “Product”.
  • These assurances are often referred to as voluntary warranties. Under the Australian Consumer  Law (ACL), these are called “Warranties against Defects.
  • It is important to remember that a “Warranty against Defects is provided in addition to consumer guarantees and does not limit or replace them. As of January 1st, 2012, manufacturers/suppliers that choose to provide a “Warranty against Defects” to consumers must provide a document evidencing that the warranty complies with specific Australian Consumer Law requirements. The ACL is administered and enforced jointly by the ACCC, State, and Territory consumer protection agencies) and where relevant, ASIC (the ACL Regulators). We are aware of the reforms and have amended our “Warranty against Defects” statement as a result of changes to the Competition & Consumer Act (CCA). In particular, most changes result from the Australian Consumer.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
  • Verbatim Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 39 005 706 374) (“Verbatim”) provides the following warranty concerning its goods (“Product”).
  • The benefits of this warranty are in addition to any rights and remedies imposed by Australian State & Federal legislation that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this warranty is to be interpreted as excluding, restricting, or modifying any State or Federal legislation applicable to the supply of goods and services which cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.
  • Verbatim warrants that, subject to the exclusions and limitations below, the Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period specified on the product packaging and/or the website from date of purchase.
  • If a defect appears in the Product before the end of the warranty period and Verbatim finds the Product to be defective in materials and workmanship, Verbatim will at its discretion repair or replace the Product free of charge.
  • If goods presented for repair are capable of retaining user-generated data, repair of these goods may result in loss of the data.

Proof of Purchase

  • Proof of purchase shall be required to be eligible for this warranty and to establish the commencement date of this warranty. This warranty is valid for the original purchase only and is not transferrable to a subsequent customer if the Product is sold by the original customer during the warranty period.
  • The term of your warranty period shall commence from the purchase date appearing on your purchase receipt from an authorized distributor, reseller, or retailer and extends only for the time outlined in the Product documentation.
  • This information can be obtained from the packaging and/or the Verbatim Australia website.

Returned Merchandise Authorisation

  • No product may be returned to Verbatim Australia without first contacting us for an RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorisation) number.
  • If it is determined that a Product may be defective, you will be given an authorization number and instructions for Product return.
  • An unauthorized return, i.e. one for which an RMA number has not been issued, will be returned to you at your expense.
  • Authorized returns are to be shipped prepaid and insured to our Head Office in qualified packaging.

Notice to Customer Relating to Repair of Goods

  • Verbatim Australia will not accept goods for repair unless we have provided the consumer with a Notice to Customer Relating to Repair of Goods that complies with regulations. As the notice relates to the repair of Goods that store user-generated data, the repairer’s Notice states that the repair of Goods may result in loss of data. Since it is also our practice to supply refurbished Goods as an alternative to repairing a consumer’s defective Goods, our notice specifies that the Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished Goods of the same type rather than being repaired. The Repairer’s Notice will be issued at the same time that we issue an RMA number.

Warranty Claims

  1. If a fault covered by warranty occurs, the customer must first: a) Contact Verbatim Australia Head Office using the contact details provided below, or b) return the Product to the retailer from which the Product was purchased.
  2. Any warranty claim must be accompanied by: a) Proof of purchase; and b) Full details of the alleged defect.
  3. If Verbatim or the retailer from which the Product was purchased finds no defect in the Product after inspection and testing, the customer must pay Verbatim’s usual costs of service work and testing.
  4. The customer must bear the cost of the transport to Verbatim or to and from the retailer to make the warranty claim including all insurance of the Product.
  5. Verbatim will bear the cost of the return transport to the customer once the claim has been finalized.

Exclusions

The warranty will not apply where:

  1. The Product has been repaired, altered, or modified by someone other than Verbatim or an authorized repair agent;
  2. The alleged defect in the Product is within acceptable industry variances;
  3. Verbatim cannot establish any fault in the Product after testing and inspection;
  4. The Product has been used other than for the purpose for which it was designed;
  5. The defect in the Product has arisen due to the customer’s failure to properly use and maintain the Product under Verbatim’s instructions, recommendations, and specifications (including applicable maintenance schedules);
  6. The Product has been subject to abnormal conditions or use, including environment, temperature, water, fire, humidity, pressure, stress or similar;
  7. The defect has arisen due to abuse, misuse, neglect, or accident.

The warranty does not extend to:

  1. Damage or defects caused by normal wear and tear;
  2. General, consequential, punitive, incidental, or special damages. These include loss of recorded data, interruption of use, the cost of recovery of lost data, lost profits, and the cost of the installation or removal of any Products, the installation of replacement Products, and any inspection, testing, or redesign caused by any defect or by the repair or replacement of Products arising from a defect in any Product.
  3. Incompatibility or poor performance due to specific computer or hardware used.

Limitations

Verbatim makes no express warranties or representations other than those set out in this warranty.
The replacement of the Product or part of the Product is the absolute limit of Verbatim’s liability under this express warranty.
