Passive uPASS UHF Technology
The passive solutions by Nedap offer automated vehicle identification for
parking access. Follow these steps for using the uPASS Target and uPASS Reach:
- Mount the reader using the wall mount or pole mount kit provided.
- Ensure the reader is angled down and across at 45 degrees for optimal performance.
- Place external tags, hang tags, or cards within the read range of the reader (up to 50 ft. for uPASS Target and up to 23 ft. for uPASS Reach).
Active TRANSIT RFID Technology
The active solutions by Nedap provide vehicle identification for secure
access. Here’s how to use the TRANSIT technology:
- Install the reader with the included wall mount or pole mount kit.
- Angle the reader down and across at 45 degrees for best results.
- Position the reader 4-6 ft. above the highest tag placement.

Nedap LPR LUMO Solution 
With states that don’t require the front plate, you can set the reader to point at the back of the vehicle, but you have to have enough of a lane to get the read between 8 and 33 ft. for detection.
