Chimney Installation
Horizontal Termination
For a 5×8 vent pipe termination, create a 10×12 inch opening.
Vertical Termination
For a 5×8 vent pipe termination, create a 10×10-inch opening.
Air Intake
Open air-flow minimum of 70 square inches for Traditional Fireplace –
Models 42 and 46. (*Air Intake required with Triple Glass)
Stud-To-Stud Metal Framing
Z Metal stud with the non-combustible back wall is recommended for framing.
Ensure all framing and finishing are secured to the back wall, ceiling, or
floor and never bear weight on the fireplace in any circumstance.

Q: What are the recommended clearances for the Flat and Recessed
installations?
A: For both Flat and Recessed installations, a clearance of 0 to 4 inches is
recommended, with a maximum clearance of 8 inches.
