Safety Information
General Product Safety
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Do not place the product against a wall or in an enclosed space as doing so might impede the flow of cooling air
- Do not place the product near any heat sources such as radiators, warm air intakes, stoves or other heat-generating devices (including amplifiers or other heat producing equipment)
- Protect the power cord from being crushed or pinched, particularly in the area of the plugs, any receptacles used, and the point of exit from the apparatus. Do not break off the ground pin of the power cord.
- Do not disregard the safety that a polarized or grounded connection can provide. A polarized connection consists of two plugs, one of which is larger than the other. A grounded connection has two blades and a third one that is grounded. If the main plug provided cannot be inserted into your outlet, consult an electrician to replace your obsolete outlet
- Use only accessories specified by the manufacturer
- This product should not be used near water such as bathtubs, sinks, swimming pools, wet basement, etc.
- Use only with its transport carriage, stand, tripod, console or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the product. When using a carriage, move the carriage assembly with the product carefully to avoid damage from falling over.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. A technical intervention is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, for example if the power cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen inside the unit, if the product has been exposed to rain or moisture, if it does not operate normally or if it has been dropped
General Guideline
It is recommended to reboot the device when some functions are defect or inactive. If it still can’t solve the problems, please contact your dealer or agent
Handling and Maintenance
General Guideline
Keep the product at least 13 cm (5 inches) away from electrical appliances
that can generate a strong magnetic field such as TV, refrigerator, motor, or
a large audio speaker
Do not place heavy objects on top of the computer as this may damage the
display
The screen surface can be easily scratched. Use with care. Do not use paper
towels to clean the display but use the included cleaning cloth. Avoid
touching it with a pen or pencil
To maximize the life of the backlight in the display, allow backlight to
automatically turn off as a result of power management. Avoid using a screen
saver or other software that prevents the power management from working
**** Cleaning Guideline
Use a soft cloth moistened with water or a nonalkaline detergent to wipe the exterior of the product
Gently wipe the display with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or detergent on the product.
**** Touchscreen Guideline
Use your finger or the stylus on the display. Using sharp or metallic object may cause scratches and damage the display, thereby causing errors
Use a soft cloth to remove dirt on the display. The touchscreen surface has a
special protective coating that prevents dirt from sticking to it. Not using a
soft cloth may cause damage to the special protective coating on the
touchscreen surface. To clean off hard to remove dirt, blow some steam on the
particular area and gently wipe away using a soft cloth.
Do not use excessive force on the display. Avoid placing objects on top of the
display as this may cause the glass to break.
When there is a noticeable discrepancy in the operation of the touchscreen
function (your touch does not correlate to the proper location on the screen),
recalibrate the touchscreen display

Hardware Installation
Installing a Micro SD Card
Your laptop supports up to 2TB additional storage with an optional microSD card slot.
Important:
- Do not remove or insert the microSD card until Windows has completed loading.
- Do not remove the card or turn off the computer in the following cases, otherwise the data may be corrupted.
- While the computer is in sleep.
- While data is being read from or written to the card.
- Immediately after the writing operation, this computer may still continue to access to the card. If you remove the card before the operation is completed, the data may be damaged or the card access may no longer be performed normally.
- Note that Winmate assumes absolutely no liability for any loss of data recorded by the user, or any other damages, direct or indirect.
- Keep microSD cards away from infants and small children
To insert the Micro SD Card:
- Remove the right battery, as described in section 1.6.1 Installing and Removing the Battery.
- Insert microSD card into slot with contacts facing down.
- Press the card in to ensure that it is seated properly.
- Put the battery back

To remove Micro SD Card:

Save the data and close all applications.

Disable the card : click on the task tray, then click . Select the card.
Note: This step is unnecessary when the computer is off, or, is not displayed, or the card does not appear in the list -
Remove the right battery, as described in section 1.6.1 Installing and Removing the Battery.

Push and release the microSD card to unlock it.

Pull out the microSD card.

Put the battery back.

Installing and Removing the Batteries
Important:
- The battery pack is not charged when you first purchase it. Be sure to charge it before using for the first time. Charging starts automatically when the AC adaptor is connected to the computer.
- Use only the specified battery pack with your computer.
- If the computer is wet, wipe them off and open the cover. Make sure to dry off the computer, replace/remove the battery pack.
- Battery (Replaceable Type, lithium and other types): Lithium batteries or other types, if placed in operator access area, have the following markings (or the equivalent), either provided next to the batteries or in both operator and service manual. If the batteries are placed elsewhere, then the markings are either provided next to the batteries or in service manual.
- Caution risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions. ATTENTION IL Y A RISQUE D’EXPLOSION SI LA BATTERIE EST REMPLACÉE PAR UNE BATTERIE DE TYPE INCORRECT.METTRE AU REBUT LES BATTERIES USAGÉES CONFORMÉMENT AUX INSTRUCTIONS
To install the standard battery pack:
- Disconnect any cords connected to the computer.
- Turn the laptop over, bottom part is facing up. Make sure no foreign objects are under the computer.
- Locate the Battery Lock Latch and push it to the “Unlock” position.
- Insert the battery with the connector-pins side first, and then lower the battery into the battery compartment.
- Push completely until the battery locks into place.Slide the battery latch to the lock position to secure the battery.
- Repeat step 3 to 6 to insert the second battery.

To remove the battery pack:
- Shut down the laptop (or put into sleep mode). Disconnect any cords connected to the computer.
- Turn the laptop over, bottom part is facing up. Make sure no foreign objects are under the computer.
- Locate the Battery Lock Latch and push it to the “Unlock” position.
- Locate the Battery Release Slider that is spring-loaded. Pull back and hold.
- Lift the battery out using the opening on the side of the battery compartment.
- Repeat step 3 to 5 to insert the second battery
Important:
- When hot-swapping the battery, check which battery needs to be replaced, then change it quickly.
- Make sure the latches are securely locked, otherwise the battery pack may fall when you carry the computer.
- Do not remove the battery pack forcibly when the latches are locked. Doing so may damage the battery pack
Important Battery Tips
The battery performance is normally deteriorated over time. But the
deterioration can be accelerated due to the battery is used, charged, or
stored in a place with high temperature or repeatedly charged.
To reduce the deterioration and ensure longer battery life, you must reduce
the number of charges
and ensure that the temperature inside the battery does not become too high.
If battery deteriorates, be sure to replace with a new and specified battery
pack.
- Do not charge the battery inside a vehicle with all its windows closed and exposed to the hot sun or in other high temperature places. Charge the battery in a temperature range of 10 °C to 30 °C (50 °F to 86 °F).
- Recharge the battery no more than once a day or hot-swap the battery when one of the remaining charges drops to <10%.
- Charge the battery when the computer is powered off to keep the temperature inside the battery.
Turning On/Off
Turning On the Computer
Note:
- Do not press the power switch repeatedly.
- The computer will forcibly be turned off if you press and hold the power switch for ten seconds or longer.
- Once you turn off the computer, wait for ten seconds or more before you turn on the computer again.
- Do not perform the following operation until the drive indicator turns off.
- Connecting or disconnecting the AC adaptor
- Pressing the power switch
- Touching the keyboard, touchpad, touchscreen or external mouse.
- Closing the display.

Open the top cover by pushing the cover latch and lifting up the cover.

Press the power button in the keyboard or physical buttons. The Windows operating system should start.
Turning Off the Rugged Laptop
** I mportant:**
- Do not perform the following operations
- Touch the keyboard, touchpad, touchscreen, or external mouse.
- Pressing power switch.
- Connect or disconnect the AC adaptor.
- Close the display
You can shut down your laptop by Click Start Power Shut down.
To turn off the laptop completely, follows:
- Click S tart Setting Update & Security Recovery.
- Click Restart Now.
- Click Turn off your PC
Note:
- Save your files before performing this option to prevent loss of important data.
- To conserve power, the following power saving methods are set at the time of purchase.
- The screen automatically turns off after: 10 minutes (when AC adaptor is connected) of inactivity 4 minutes (when on battery power) of inactivity
- The computer automatically enters sleep after: 10 minutes (when AC adaptor is connected) of inactivity 4 minutes (when on battery power) of inactivity

Safety Guideline for Using Lithium Battery
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Discard
used batteries according to manufacturer’s instructions.
