Please read this manual carefully before operating your new general purpose thermometer.
The operating manual introduces you with clear and simple instructions to the handling of the thermometer.
Information that are useful and important for understanding the function, are highlighted in the instructions text.

Safety notes

Caution when measuring high temperatures! Do not touch the temperature sensor with bare hands immediately after measuring! Risk of burn injury! As a basic principle, do not put the thermometer in the hot zone during measuring. Risk of explosion of the lithium battery!

Do not use the thermometer in explosion endangered areas!

Description

The general purpose thermometer is a handy measuring instrument operated with a lithium battery, used to measure the temperature of air, liquids and plastic material (meat, fruit, etc.) The electronics are controlled by a microprocessor.
This ensures a high measuring precision and linearity over the complete measuring range.
The thermometer is equipped with a stainless steel tilting sensor needle.

Operation

Switching on the thermometer

To switch the thermometer on, press the “ON/OFF” button for at least one second.
The device will perform a system test during which all segments are visible in the display.
After this the measuring channel is tested. The display shows “38.8”.
Afterwards the first measured value will appear in °C.
If an error message is displayed, refer to chapter 4 “Troubleshooting” on page 10.

Temperature measuring

For conserving battery power, the thermometer will switch off automatically after 2 hours of operation.

Tilt the sensor needle out and place it at the desired position.
Use the probe only as directed, in order to avoid damages and faulty measurements.
When the measurement is finished, switch the device off by pressing “ON/OFF”.

Calibration services

In order to guarantee a high measuring precision, the thermometer must be calibrated every year. Therefore we offer you a calibration service.

• Fill in the enclosed service card.
• After one year we will recall your thermometer for calibration.

Send us your devices and we will send them after calibration back.
