Mucheln 52mm Entrance Handle Set
Installation Instructions

STEP 1: Use the supplied cutting template to mark out with a pencil all drilling and cutting holes required for the mortice, cylinder and door handles

STEP 2: Use a spade bit and drill bits to cut the holes on the door surface.
TIPS : Take care when using spade bits on the front edge of the door as they can split easily. Use pilot holes or drill bits slightly smaller than required and work up from there to ensure the holes aren’t oversized.

STEP 3: Cut a hole (where marked) on the edge of the door for the mortice lock.
To assist with the mortice cut out, first drill a series of small holes into the side of the door within the marked out cutting area, then use a chisel to carve out the hole. -
STEP 4 : Insert the mortice into the hole and using a pencil trace around the edge of the lock to create a recess for the lock to sit flush. Remove the lock and use a chisel to carve out a shallow recess. Re-insert the mortice and secure with the 3 wood screws.

STEP 5 : Remove the inner rose from inside the handle backing plate by loosening the grub screws. Attach the screw jackets to the inner rose with the 2 short screws.
Re-install the inner rose into the inside of the left handle backing plate and secure with the grub screw. -
STEP 6 : Assemble the spindle by joining the 2 halves together. Ensure the round stubs face inwards against the holes on the opposite half. Insert the spindle into the centre of the handle.

STEP 7 : Install the left handle into position, and through the mortice lock, then attach the other half of the inner rose to the back side of the door, using the long screws to secure into the screw jackets. Stabilise the inner rose using the wood screws.

STEP 8 : Install the other side of handle into position over the secure inner rose and secure the handle by tightening the grub screw on the underside. Be sure not to overtighten.

STEP 9: Insert the cylinder through the bottom hole and repeat the steps above to attach either side of the escutcheon inner roses.

STEP 10 : Attach the escutcheon covers over the cylinder on both sides of the door and secure to the inner roses by tightening the grub screws with the Allen key. Do not overtighten.
Ensure the key side of the cylinder is facing outside and the snib is on the
inside of the door.
Test the lock by turning either the key or snib to ensure that the lock in the
mortice is responds.
