Assembly

Preparing for mounting

  1. Use a metal outlet box suitable for fan support and use only the screws provided with the outlet box (must support 35 lbs). Before attaching the fan to the outlet box, ensure the outlet box is securely fastened by at least two points to a structural ceiling member ( a loose box will cause the fan to wobble). Remove the two outlet box screws provided with the box, aligning the holes of the mounting plate with the holes of the outlet box. Reinstall the 2 outlet box screws securely.

  2. Loosen 2 screws across from each other and remove the other 2 preassembled screws from the mounting plate (Corresponding to installation step 6). Save screws for later use.
    Install remote control

  3. Set dip switches on the RemoteTransmitter and Remote Receiver to the same settings. This must be done so the units will communicate properly. If you have other fans you can set to control from one Transmitter by setting receivers the same as the Transmitter. If you have more than one fan with a remote, you can set the dip switches to different positions to have separcontrolstrol.
Note: The remote receiver is located on the top plate of the motor assembly as shown in

  4. Mounting plate for hands-free wiring and safety cable installation.
For Canadian installation and USA fan and light kit combinations over 35 lbs, in both ush and downrod modes the safety cable must be installed into the house structure beams using 3 lag screws, washers and lock washers provided. Make sure that when the safety cable is fully extended the lead wires are longer than the cable and no stress is placed on the lead wires. Note: If Installing The Secondary Support Safety Cable in the U.S., Do Not Remove Knockouts In The Outlet Box.

  5. Make wiring connections using wire connectors provided as indicated above. White from house to White from remote receiver marked AC N. Black from house to Black from remote marked AC L. Connect all green grounded wires to Grounded wire from House. Make sure that no laments are outside of the wire connector.

  6. Lift the motor assembly, align the keyhole slots with the preassembled screws on the mounting plate, and twist clockwise till the lock.

Fans Balance

  • Put the clip in the centre of the blade. turn on the fan and if the shake persists, put the clip in another blade until the shake is reduced. Then this blade will need a counterweight.CACI-Mall-KBS52245-52-Inch-Ceiling-Fan-Fig- \(22\)
  • Place the clip on the blade that needs the counterweight and try the best place to place it, from the centre to the tip of the blade, until the wobble disappears.
  • Paste the counterweight on the surface of the blade near the clip, remove the clip and test the fan. If it keeps staggering, put another counterweight. if it gets worse, try another better area to place it. please try it patiently till the fan is balanced.CACI-Mall-KBS52245-52-Inch-Ceiling-Fan-Fig- \(24\)

Care And Cleaning

WARNING:
Make sure the power is off before cleaning your tan.

  • Because of the fan’s natural movement, some connections may become loose. Check the support connections, brackets, and blade attachments twice a year. Make sure they are secure. It is not necessary to remove the fan from the ceiling.
  • Clean your fan periodically to help maintain its new appearance over the years. Do not use water when cleaning, as this could damage the motor, or the wood, or possibly cause an electrical shock. Use only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish. The plating is sealed with a lacquer to minimize discolouration or tarnishing.
  • You can apply a light coat of furniture polish to the wood for additional protection and enhanced beauty. Cover small scratches with a light application of shoe polish.
  • You do not need to oil your fan. The motor has permanently lubricated sealed ball bearings.
