INSTRUCTION
Safe-Guard® AquaSol must be administered orally to chickens via drinking water at a daily for 5 consecutive days. The required daily volume of product is calculated from the total estimated body weight [kg or pound] of the entire group of chickens to be treated. It is NOT to be administered directly to any poultry, as it is a concentrate. The daily dose of 1 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight (0.5 mg per pound) is equivalent to 0.005 mL Safe- Guard® AquaSol per kg body weight (0.00227 mL per pound; so, a single 5-pound chicken would require about ¼ of a drop of medication). A single drop of Safe-Guard AquaSol, mixed with water (1 to 1 ratio) can treat 22 pounds of chickens (about 3 to 4 average sized hens, presuming they weigh between 4 and 5 pounds each).
Add the entire 1 to 1 dilution of Safe-Guard® AquaSol in water to the medication tank containing the volume of drinking water usually consumed by the animals in 3 to 24 hours. Stir the medicated water in the medication tank until the medicated water is visibly homogeneous. The medicated water should appear hazy. No further stirring during administration is necessary. It is OKAY to have a little more medication in the water than necessary. Overdosing by a small amount is not harmful to chickens. VIEW THE STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS SHEET.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Safe-Guard® AquaSol must be administered orally to chickens via drinking water at a daily dose of 1 mg/kg BW (0.454 mg/lb) for 5 consecutive days. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment, and control of parasitism. No withdrawal period is required when used according to labelling.
GENERAL MIXING DIRECTIONS
The daily dose of 1 mg fenbendazole per kg BW (0.454 mg/lb) is equivalent to 0.005 mL Safe-Guard® AquaSol per kg BW (0.00227 mL/lb). The required daily volume of product is calculated from the total estimated body weight [kg] of the entire group of chickens to be treated. Please use the following formula:
- Total body weight [kg] of the chickens to be treated × 0.005 mL = mL Safe-Guard AquaSol/day
- Total body weight [lb] of the chickens to be treated × 0.00227 mL = mL Safe-Guard® AquaSol/day
- Weigh the chickens (or poultry) that you are about to treat. If you’re treating many birds, you can estimate by simply weighing a few at random and getting an average to use overall. Luckily, a small extra amount of the medication isn’t harmful to poultry.
- Use the guide on the other side of these instructions to help determine the number of drops of Safe- Guard® AquaSol to use for the number of chickens or poultry that you will be treating. When dealing with Tapeworm, you may wish to add an additional drop to the equation.
- Shake the product (Safe-Guard® AquaSol) well before mixing. The nanopar_cles in the solu_on tend to se
le to the bo
om of the bole, making the bo
le look half full (when it’s actually not). - Add the calculated volume of the product (Safe-Guard® AquaSol) to the amount of drinking water that the number of chickens or poultry consume in a 24-hour period and sKr thoroughly. Chickens typically drink 2 cups (1 pint) of water per day each; ducks typically drink twice that (4 cups or 2 pints); turkeys drink about 3-4 cups of water a day; and quail typically drink about 5% of their bodyweight (typically 2–2.5 oz of water daily).
- At the end of each day, remove any remaining water, rinse the waterer out, and replace with newly medicated water. Repeat for five (5) consecutive days.
USER SAFETY WARNINGS: Not for use in humans. Keep out of reach of children. Protective gloves should be used, and care should be taken when handling the product to avoid skin and eye exposure and accidental ingestion. Accidental exposure may result in skin and eye irritation. Accidental ingestion may cause gastrointestinal disturbances and hypersensitivity reactions in humans.
