Product Usage Instructions

Preparation

1. Wash hands and forearms without using disinfectant to avoid damaging mycelium.
2. Clean work area and minimize air movement.
3. Set aside uninterrupted time to work with the mycelium.

Set Up (1 hour)

1. Open the kit and add clean water, then close the lid.
2. Let it soak for 1 hour.
3. Add 150ml water to the enclosed grow bag.
4. Pour out the water from the kit after 1 hour, leave the lid off, and place it in the bag.

Start Growing (4-14 days)

Keep the bag folded over the kit without touching the topsoil. Maintain room temperature and avoid drastic temperature changes. Provide dim light daily and avoid direct sunlight.

Pins (Baby mushrooms)

When mushrooms start appearing, replace the water in the bag with fresh water. Position the bag upright and close it with the provided paper clip.

Troubleshooting

If no mushroom pins are visible after 14 days, check for contamination, and growth conditions, and contact support if needed.

Harvest

1. Harvest when the biggest mushroom opens its cap.
2. If you miss that moment, it’s okay; mushrooms dropping spores do not harm the kit.
3. Wash hands, and twist mushrooms out of mycelium, ensuring no remains are left.

Drying

If not using fresh, dry mushrooms fully until crisp.

Restart the Kit

Avoid freezing the kit. Pour out the water, return the kit to the bag, and wait for the next harvest or multiple flushes.

Note : If you don’t want to use the kit immediately, you can store it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

PREPARATION

Take these steps each time before you work with the Growkit.

1. Wash your hands and forearms, but do not apply desinfectant, to avoid damaging the mycelium.
2. Clean your work area, and close the windows to avoid air movement.
3. Set aside me to work with the mycelium without interrup, to avoid contamination.

SET UP (1h)

• Open the KIT, add clean drinking water to it and close the lid.
• Let it soak for 1 hour.
• While waiting, add 150ml drinking water to the enclosed GROW BAG.
• After 1h, pour the water out of the KIT. Leave the lid OFF and place the box into the BAG.

START GROWING (4-14 days)

Fold the bag over the KIT without letting it touch the topsoil. Keep it close to the surface to retain moisture. Set up at room temperature and avoid strong temperature changes. Avoid direct sunlight! Give your growkit a few hours of DIM LIGHT every day.

Note: Start taking care of a suitable drying option  BEFORE your mushrooms are ready!

TROUBLESHOOTING

If there are still no mushroom pins after 14 days: Once you see tiny mushrooms start to appear at the surface, they will need space to grow. REPLACE the water in the bag with fresh water. Position the growbag UPRIGHT. Use the enclosed PAPER CLIP to close the bag.

1. Check the kit for contamination (like colourful molds).
2. Check growth conditions: Was the temperature consistent? Did the kit have light?

HARVEST

• The IDEAL moment for Harvesting is when the biggest mushroom opens its hat.
• If you miss that moment, the mushrooms will start to drop black spores everywhere. That is not a problem though, it does not hurt the kit or the mushrooms.
•  Wash your hands and pick your harvest. Twist the mushrooms out of the mycelium, making sure there are no remains.

DRYING

If you don’t want to use the mushrooms fresh, dry them asap. You need a fruit dehydrator or a heat mat. Never go over 45°C and never expose them to the sun! Radiation and high temperatures destroy the active substances! Dry them fully until they are crisp.

RESTART THE KIT

After harvest, the kit needs WATER for the next Flush. Fill it with drinking water and put it on the LID. Place in the fridge for 12h at 4-8°C. NEVER let the kit freeze! Then pour out the water, place the kit back in the bag and wait for the next harvest.
