SMART OUTDOOR PLUG Operating Instructions
Introduction
Thank you for choosing a Hama product.
Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely.
Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place for future reference.
If you sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new
owner.
1.1 Correct use
The smart socket is suitable for convenient control via the app, voice
commands and automations. The device is only suitable for indoor use.
Any other use is considered incorrect. Unauthorised modifications or
conversions are not permitted and will invalidate the warranty. Do not open
your device yourself under any circumstances and do not attempt to carry out
any repairs yourself.
1.2 Explanation of warning symbols and notes
Risk of electric shock
This symbol indicates a risk of electric shock from touching uninsulated
product parts that may carry hazardous voltage.
Warning
This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions or to draw your attention
to specific hazards and risks.
Note
This symbol is used to indicate additional information or important notes.

Safety instructions
Warning – Max. 2300 W
Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the
specifications.
Risk of electric shock
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
- Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable or power cable is damaged.
- Do not operate while covered.
- Voltage-free only when plug is disconnected.
- Only operate with closed safety covers.
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry environments only.
- This product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Use the product only for the intended purpose.
- Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
- Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
- Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
- Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
- Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
- Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
- Never connect multiple units of this product in series.
- Do not use any heat-generating devices (such as electric blankets, coffee machines, etc.) with this product. There is a risk of fire and injury.
- Do not use this product with any devices that are motorised or devices that have a rotating component or tool. There is a risk of injury.
Setup
The following steps are required to commission the device:
- Connect the device to a properly installed and easily accessible mains socket.
- Put the device in pairing mode by holding the button for around 5 seconds. The LED starts to flash quickly.
4.1 Installing the Hama Smart Home app
To use all the functions of the device, you need a smartphone/tablet and the
Hama Smart Home app.
Note
- The following operating systems are supported:
- iOS 16.3 or later
- Android 6.0 or later
- Download the Hama Smart Home app from the App Store (iOS) or from Google Play (Android) to your smartphone/tablet.
- To install the app, follow the instructions on your smartphone/tablet.
- Open the app on your smartphone/tablet.
Note
- While setting up the app, you will be asked whether the app has permission to access the functions of your smartphone/tablet. Say yes to these prompts for the full functionality of the device.
- Register to create a new account. Alternatively, log in with the access data of your existing account.
- Follow the instructions for setting up the app until you can add a new device, see Chapter 4.2 Integration into the Hama Smart Home app.

Note
Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Hama Smart Home app.
4.2 Integration into the Hama Smart Home app
After successful installation of the device and app, now integrate the device
into the app.
- Start the Hama Smart Home app on your smartphone/tablet.
- Tap the [Add device] button. Or the plus sign (top right).
- Tap the Scan QR code (top right) button.
- Scan the QR code on your item:
if the QR code was recognised, setup of your item begins.
You will need to confirm the network data of your 2.4 GHz network to do this.
The setup process can take up to 3 minutes.
Once setup is complete, you can then customise the names of the items or end
setup.
4.3 Connecting via a third-party app
Thanks to the Matter wireless standard, you can control our item in all
compatible third-party apps in addition to our app. Please note, however, that
the full range of functions is only available to you when using the Hama Smart
Home app.
4.3.1 Share after initial integration in Hama Smart Home App:
If you have already set up the item in the Hama Smart Home app, but want to
share it for control in the app of a third-party provider, this is possible
via the following steps:
Open the item and navigate to the item settings using the (pencil) symbol.
Then generate a customised QR code and numerical code via the point (share via Matter).
Now follow the steps in your chosen Matter-enabled app to set up the item
using the generated number or QR code.
4.3.2 Initial connection via a third-party app
You can also use our items without first connecting them to the Hama Smart
Home app. Please follow the steps below:
- Open the Matter-compatible app you have selected and start device connection.
- Press and hold the button on the socket for approx. 5 seconds until the LED starts to flash.
- Scan the QR code on the side of the socket with the corresponding app.
Note
- Please ensure that the app you have selected supports the Matter standard.
- Find out about further requirements set out by the provider and follow these as necessary.
Setting options in the Hama Smart Home app
The following settings can be made in the app:
- Switch On / Off
- Schedule: Settings for time controls (e.g. timer, schedule, etc.)
- Function settings: (Switching sequence, LED mode, etc.)
For extended usage options, scenarios can be created in the app. (See Section 6 and App Guide)
EXTENDED USAGE OPTIONS WITH SCENARIOS
Scenarios and automated sequences that can be created in the app allow various
combination options and usage options for these products, depending on the
SmartHome products in your home.
Programming is always via the app (see Section 4 of the App Guide) and will be
offered/suggested to you on an individual basis.

Care and maintenance
Note
Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning and during prolonged
periods of non-use.
Only clean this product using a lint-free, slightly damp cloth and do not use
any harsh cleaners.
