OPERATION MANUAL
- Dear Sir or Madam, thank you for purchasing an AQUAEL product. We are convinced that you will be satisfied with its performance. To avoid any problems related to its use, please read the following instructions carefully beforehand.
- DESTINY. The FZN-PRO 700, FZN-PRO 1000 and FZN-PRO 1500 external filter that you have purchased is used to purify the water in the aquarium. The filters of the FZN PRO series are designed for tanks with a capacity of 75 up to 300 liters, according to the indications included in the technical data. These devices are simple to build and easy to use even for a beginner aquarist. Water is taken from the lower parts of the aquarium, pumped through filter cartridges, and then poured back into the aquarium. The filter has a motor that is located in the suction module and is located inside the aquarium. Thanks to this, the filter is very quiet and completely safe to use. There is no risk of leakage of the engine compartment and water leakage. The FZN PRO 700/1000/1500 filters come complete with a surface skimmer that additionally cleans the water surface in the aquarium.
CONDITIONS FOR SAFE USE
The device you have purchased has been made in accordance with the current safety standards in force in the European Union. For its long-term and safe use, please read the following safety conditions:
- Before installation and each start-up of the appliance, please read these operating and assembly instructions carefully (Fig. A).
- The appliance is intended for use only indoors and only for its intended purpose (Fig. B)
- The appliance may only be supplied from the mains electricity supply of the rated voltage specified on the appliance.
- The non-detachable power cord cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the equipment becomes unusable (Fig. C).
- Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before mounting, disassembling or cleaning (Fig. D).
- This appliance can be used by children over 3 years of age and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision. Children should not play with the appliance (Fig. E).
- ATTENTION! The power cord should be connected to the mains as shown in (Fig. F) so that the cord section hangs freely below the plug. This is to prevent the plug from possibly flooding with water in the event of condensation on the connecting line.
INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENT. The filter should be hung on the aquarium wall according to the picture on the title page of this manual. To start, fill the filter tank (3) with water and then insert the plug of the connecting cable into the mains socket. A properly installed filter will suck air from the suction system soon after switching on (after approx. ½ min.) and start pumping water out of the aquarium. The pump capacity can be adjusted by the control knob (11) located on the top of the overflow unit in a wide range. The angle of inclination of the filter can be set with the yaw regulator (6). The FZN PRO 700/1000/1500 filters have sound-absorbing rubber shock absorbers (7) that prevent vibration transmission and perfectly reduce noise.
INSTALLING A SURFACE SKIMMER. FZN PRO cascade filters have the ability to
work with an integrated surface skimmer for additional cleaning of the
aquarium water surface. To connect the skimmer, position the suction tube
according to Fig. 3.
A skimmer should be connected to the side inlet as shown. Suction adjustment
depends on the rotation of the skimmer body to achieve the desired effect. If
you do not want to use a surface skimmer, the suction tube should be set to
the position I illustrate (Fig. 2).
REPLACEMENT OF FILTER CARTRIDGES. In order to replace the filter cartridges, pull out the mains plug, remove the filter cap (4) and then remove the filter cartridges by sliding the complete cartridge or individual cartridges out of the filter chamber.
- To remove a single cartridge from the cartridge, open the latch and then eject the single cartridge. After cleaning or replacing with a new one, insert the cartridge until it clicks into place.
- To remove the complete cartridge, gently slide it out of the filter chamber using the handles and then slide the cartridges out for servicing.
We recommend using original filter cartridges. Depending on the needs,
cartridges are available that provide appropriate mechanical, biological and
chemical filtration. The user can also use other filter cartridges inter-
changeably on their own. To do this, remove the filter cartridges from the
hopper. In the empty hopper, you can place the cartridges in the form of a
matching sponge and/or loose cartridges.
MAINTENANCE (Fig. 1). The filter is driven by a low-maintenance,
watertight, synchronous motor. Every few weeks, preferably when cleaning the
filter cartridges, it should be dismantled by turning counterclockwise until
it slides out of the body, then remove the rotor chamber cover (9) and remove
the impeller (8). Thoroughly clean both the impeller (8) and the impeller seat
in the pump body. Once the rotor (8) is in place and the rotor cover (9) is
attached, it should rotate without any resistance.
DISASSEMBLY AND DISPOSAL.
It is forbidden to dispose of used electric and electrical equipment in a
trash bin. Segregating and proper utilization of this kind of waste leads to
conserving the resources of natural environment and allows avoiding negative
influence on health as it can be endangered by improper waste handling. The
user is responsible for delivering the used product to a specialized
collection point where it will be accepted free of charge. You can obtain
information about such a facility at the local authorities, or by asking
either the seller or the manufacturer service.
GUARANTEE CONDITIONS.

purchase date. The guarantee covers damages caused at the fault of the
producer, i.e., material defects or assembly errors. It does not cover damages
caused as a result of an improper utilization of the equipment or making
modifications in it by the purchaser. In order to have the equipment repaired,
send it together with the guarantee card filled in by the seller to the
