Connections and typical applications
In large area applications the low-voltage wire that runs from the controller
to the LED lighting can sometimes be too long to carry adequate power due to
voltage drop. By integrating one or more LED amplifiers into the lighting
installation, you can repeat the signal from the controller to add lighting to
other areas.
IMPORTANT: This device amplifies or repeats the controller signal, not the power. Each LED amplifier installed will require a separate power supply. Output rating (watts) of the power supply connected to the LED amplifier is dependent on the power requirements of the LED lighting that is connected to the LED amplifier. Follow your LED tape model instructions to determine power supply requirements.
When a controller is wired directly to one or more LED amplifiers (not connected to LED lighting), the LED amplifiers and LED lighting can be located up to one hundred feet from the actual color controller. This can often solve voltage drop issues and may also help with certain installation needs. When a controller is direct wired to a LED amplifier, the cable will be transmitting only data, so a thick cable is not needed.

Safety protection
The amplifier has a function to prevent it from being damaged by mis-wiring,
output short circuit, overloading, or overheating. It will automatically shut
down under these extreme conditions until safe operating conditions are
restored. To avoid shutdowns, make sure the installed LED lighting
is compatible with constant voltage driving, is in the rated range of the
amplifier, and the cables are well connected and insulated. Also, install the
amplifier with proper ventilation and heat dissipation in mind.
