ENERGY SAVING TIPS
Install the appliance in a dry, well-ventilated room far away from any heat source (eg. radiator, cooker, etc.) and in a place not exposed directly to the sun. If required, use an insulating plate. To guarantee adequate ventilation follow installation instructions. Insufficient ventilation at the back of the product increases energy consumption and decreases cooling efficiency. Frequent door opening might cause an increase in Energy Consumption. The internal temperature of the appliance and the Energy Consumption may be affected also by the ambient temperature, as well as the location of the appliance. Temperature settings should take into consideration these factors. Reduce door opening to a minimum. When thawing frozen food, place it in the refrigerator. The low temperature of the frozen products cools the food in the refrigerator. Allow warm food and drinks to cool down before placing in the appliance. Positioning of the shelves in the refrigerator has no impact on the efficient usage of energy. Food should be placed on the shelves in such way to ensure proper air circulation (food should not touch each other and the distance between food and rear wall should be kept). You can increase storage capacity of frozen food by removing baskets and, if present, Stop Frost shelf. Do not worry about noises coming from the compressor which are normal operation noises.
THE VARIOUS FUNCTION AND POSSIBILITIES
Information on Less Frost Technology
Thanks to the wrap-around evaporator, LessFrost technology offers more
efficient cooling, less manual defrost requirement and a more flexible storage
room.
Super freezing: This switch is the super freeze switch. For maximum freezing
capacity, please turn on this switch 24h before placing fresh food. After
placing fresh food in the freezer, 24 ON position is generally sufficient. In
order to save energy, please turn off the switch 24 hours after placing fresh
food.
Thermostat setting
The fridge freezer thermostat automatically regulates the inside temperature
of the compartments. By rotating the knob from position 1 to 5, colder
temperatures can be obtained.
Important note: Do not try to rotate knob beyond 1 position it will stop
your appliance.
1 – 2 : For short-term storage of food in the freezer compartment, you can set
the knob between the minimum and medium position.
3 – 4 : For long-term storage of food in the freezer compartment, you can set
the knob to the medium position.
5 : For freezing fresh food. The appliance will work for longer. So, after the
desired condition is reached, return the knob to the previous setting.
Warnings about Temperature Adjustments
- The ambient temperature, the temperature of the freshly stored food, and how often the door is opened, affect the temperature in the refrigerator compartment. If required, change the temperature setting.
- It is not recommended that you operate your fridge in environments colder than 10°C in terms of its efficiency.
- The thermostat setting should be done by taking into consideration how often the fresh food and freezer doors are opened and closed, how much food is stored in the refrigerator, and the environment in which the refrigerator is located.
- Your fridge should be operated up to 24 hours according to the ambient temperature without interruption after being plugged in to be completely cooled. Do not open
- A 5-minute delaying function is applied to prevent damage to the compressor of your fridge, when you take the plug off and then plug it on again to operate it or when an energy breakdown occurs. Your fridge will start to operate normally after 5 minutes.
- Your fridge is designed to operate in the ambient temperature intervals stated in the standards, according to the climate class stated in the information label. It is not recommended that your fridge is operated in environments that are out of the stated temperature intervals in terms of cooling efficiency.
- This appliance is designed for use at an ambient temperature within the 16°C – 32°C range.
Climatic Class | Amb. T. (°C) |
---|---|
SN: | From 10 to 32 °C |
ST: | From 16 to 38 °C; |
N: | From 16 to 32 °C |
T: | From 16 to 43 °C |
Accessories
Ice tray
- Fill the ice tray with water and place in the freezer compartment.
- After the water has completely turned into ice, you can twist the tray as shown below to remove the ice cubes.
Plastic scraper
After a period of time frost will build up in certain areas in the freezer
compartment.
The frost accumulated in the freezer should be removed periodically. Use the
plastic scraper provided if necessary. Do not use sharp metal objects for this
operation.
They could puncture the refrigerator circuit and cause irreparable damage to
the unit.
All written and visual descriptions in the accessories may vary according to
the appliance model. Putting food in the coldest area of the refrigerator
Your foods will be better stored if you put them in the most appropriate
cooling area.
The coldest area is just above the crisper.
To be sure to have a low temperature in this area, make sure the shelf is
located at the level of this symbol, as shown in the illustration.
Temperature indicator (In some models)
In order to help you better set your refrigerator, we have equipped it with a
temperature indicator located in the coldest area.
You can easily check that the temperature of the coldest area is appropriate:
when the indicator shows “OK”, it means the thermostat is set properly and the
inside temperature is correct. Since “OK” appears in black, it will be
difficult to see this indication if the temperature indicator is badly lit. To
be able to see this indication properly, there should be enough light.
If the “OK” symbol does not appear, it means that the temperature is too high:
you will then have to modify the thermostat setting, and wait 12 hours before
visually checking the temperature again.
NOTE: Following repeated openings (or prolonged opening) of the door or after
putting fresh food into the appliance, it is normal for the indication “OK”
not to appear in the temperature setting indicator. If there is an abnormal
ice crystals build up (bottom wall of the appliance) on the refrigerator
compartment evaporator (overloaded appliance, high room temperature, frequent
door openings), put the temperature setting device on a lower position until
compressor off periods are obtained again.
The upper limit of the coldest area is indicated by the lower side of the
sticker (head of the arrow). The coldest area upper shelf must be at the same
level with the arrowhead. The coldest area is below this level.
As these shelves are removable, make sure they are always at the same level
with these zone limits described on the stickers, in order to guarantee
temperatures in this area.
Each type of food has an ideal conservation temperature and consequently a
particular location to follow.
Locations | Products |
---|---|
Upper shelves | Cooked foods, desserts and all foods to be eaten fast enough |
Coldest area | Meat, poultry, game and raw fish Maximum conservation tim e : 1 |
to 2 days. Fresh fruits, cooked pork meat.
Crisper| Fresh vegetables and fruits.
Door-liner| Door trays shall contain bottles at the bottom side and, in their
upper parts, low-volume and currently used products like yogurt, fresh cream,
etc.
Butter, cooked cheese and eggs shall be introduced in appropriate holders.
ARRANGING FOOD IN THE APPLIANCE
Refrigerator Compartment
- To reduce humidity and consequent increase of frost never place liquids in unsealed containers in the refrigerator. Frost tends to concentrate in the coldest parts of the evaporator and in time will require more frequent defrosting.
- Never place warm food in the refrigerator. Warm food should be allowed to cool at room temperature and should be arranged to ensure adequate air circulation in the refrigerator compartment.
- Nothing should touch on the back wall as it will cause frost and the packages can stick on the back wall. Do not open the refrigerator door too frequently.
- Arrange the meat and cleaned fish(wrapped in packages or sheets of plastic) which you will use in 1-2 days,in the bottom section of the refrigerator compartment(that is above the crisper) as this is the coldest section and will ensure the best-storing conditions.
- You can put the fruits and vegetables into a crisper without packing them.
Freezer Compartment
- The use of a freezer is, storing of deep-frozen or frozen foods for long periods of time and making ice cubes.
- To freeze fresh food, ensure that as much of the surface as possible of the food to be frozen is in contact with the cooling surface.
- Do not put fresh food with frozen on the side by side as it can thaw the frozen food.
- While freezing fresh foods(i.e meat, fish, and mincemeat), divide them in parts you will use in one time.
- Once the unit has been defrosted replace the foods into the freezer and remember to consume them in as short period of time.
- Never place warm food in the freezer compartment. As it will disturb the frozen foods.
- For storing frozen foods;the instructions shown on frozen food packages should always be followed carefully and if no information is provided food should not be stored for more than 3 months from the purchase date.
- When buying frozen foods ensure that these have been frozen at suitable temperatures and that the packing is intact.
- Frozen foods should be transported in appropriate containers to maintain the quality of the food and should be returned to the freezing surfaces of the unit in the shortest possible time.
- If a package of frozen food shows sign of humidity and abnormal swelling it is probable that it has been previously stored at an unsuitable temperature and that the contents have deteriorated.
- The storage life of frozen foods depends on the room temperature, thermostat setting, how often the door is opened, the type of food and the length of time required to transport the product from the shop to your home. Always follow the instructions printed on the package and never exceed the maximum storage life indicated.
Not that; if you want to open again immediately after closing the freezer door, it will not be opened easily. It’s quite normal! After reaching the equilibrium conditions, the door will be opened easily.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Disconnect the unit from the power supply before cleaning.
- Do not clean the appliance by pouring water.
- Make sure that no water enters the lamp housing and other electrical components.
- The appliance should be cleaned periodically using a solution of bicarbonate of soda and lukewarm water.
- Clean the accessories separately with soap and water. Do not clean them in the dishwasher.
- Do not use abrasive products, detergents or soaps. After washing, rinse with clean water and dry carefully. When you have finished cleaning, reconnect the plugto the mains supply with dry hands.
- Never use flammable, explosive or corrosive material like thinner, gas, acid for cleaning.
- The condenser (black part with black wings at the rear of the appliance) should be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner or a dry brush at least once a year. This will help your appliance to operate more efficiently and will enable you to save energy.
- Make sure that no water contacts the electrical connections of the thermostat or internal lighting. Regularly check the door seal and clean it whenever necessary.
Defrosting
Refrigerator Compartment;
- Defrosting occurs automatically in the refrigerator compartment during operation; the defrost water is collected by the evaporating tray and evaporates automatically.
- The evaporating tray and the defrost water drain hole should be cleaned periodically with defrost drain plug to prevent the water from collecting on the bottom of the refrigerator instead of flowing out.
- You can also pour 1/2 glass of water to drain the hole to clean the inside.
Freezer Compartment;
-
The frost, accumulated in the freezer compartment, should be removed periodically. (Use the plastic scraper provided) The freezer compartment should be cleaned in the way as the refrigerator compartment, with the defrost operations of the compartment at least twice a year.
For this; -
The day before you defrost, set the thermostat dial to “5” position to freeze the foods completely.
-
During defrosting, frozen foods should be wrapped in several layers of paper and kept in a cool place. The inevitable rise in temperature will shorten their storage life.
Remember to use these foods within a relatively short period of time. -
Set the thermostat knob to position “•” or unplug the unit; leave the door open until completely defrosted.
-
To accelerate the defrosting process one or more basins of warm water can be placed in the freezer compartment.
-
Dry the inside of the unit carefully and set the thermostat knob to the MAX position.
Replacing The Light Bulb
To replace the bulb in the freezer and fridge departments;
- Unplug your fridge.
- Remove the cover of the box from the claws using a screwdriver.
- Replace with a bulb of maximum 15 Watts.
- Install the cover.
- Wait for 5 minutes before re-plugging and bringing the thermostat to its original position.
Replacing LED Lighting
If your refrigerator has LED lighting contact the help desk as this should be
changed by authorized personnel only.
SHIPMENT AND REPOSITIONING
Transportation and changing of the Installation position

money.
What to do if your refrigerator does not operate ;
Check that ;
- There is no power,
- The general switch in your home is disconnected,
- The thermostat setting is in “•” position,
- The socket is not sufficient. To check this, plug in another appliance that you know is working into the same socket.
What to do if your refrigerator performs poorly; Check that:
- You have not overloaded the appliance,
- The doors are closed perfectly,
- There is no dust on the condenser,
- There is enough place at the rear and side walls.
If there is noise ;
The cooling gas which circulates in the refrigerator circuit may make a slight
noise(bubbling sound) even when the compressor is not running. Do not worry
this is quite normal. If these sounds are different check that ;
- The appliance is well-leveled,
- Nothing is touching the rear.
- The stuff on the appliance are vibrating.
If there is water in the lower part of the refrigerator; Check that ;
- The drain hole for defrost water is not clogged(Use defrost drain plug to clean the drain hole) Recommendations
- While power is cut, to prevent any compressor problem you should plug out the refrigerator. You should delay plugging in 5 – 10 minutes after you power supply. If you plug out the refrigerator for a reason you should wait at least 5 min to replug it. It is important for avoiding damage to the refrigerator’s components.
- The cooling unit of your refrigerator is hidden in the rear wall. Therefore, water droplets or icing may occur on the rear surface of your fridge due to the operation of the compressor in specified intervals. This is normal. There is no need to perform a defrosting operation unless the icing is excessive.
- If you will not use your fridge for a long time (e.g. in summer holidays), put the thermostat to “•” position. After defrosting, clean your fridge and leave the door open to prevent humidity and smell. If the problem persists after you have followed all the instructions above, please consult to the nearest Authorised Service.
