NORTHERN BREWER 42063 Cold Crash Fine Line Cleaning Kit Instructions
COLD CRASH FINE LINE CLEANING KIT
These instructions will walk you through the process of cleaning a two-tap system, such as a standard home kegerator. If you have a larger draft system or keezer, additional jumpers can be purchased separately to daisy-chain multiple tap lines together. This allows you to clean all of your lines at once.
KIT INCLUDES
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1 Pour 1.5 gallons of warm water into the mini-keg and add 3.0oz of Beer Line Cleaner (BLC). Then close the top of the keg and gently shake the keg to thoroughly mix the BLC into the water.
STEP 2 Attach one of your ball-lock liquid lines to the “out” post on the mini-keg as you would normally with a beer keg.
STEP 3 Remove two of your tap faucets by screwing them off of the shanks. Then soak them in a cleaning solution (sold separately) to remove any residue inside or on them.
STEP 4 Attach the Tap Cleaning Jumper to the two open shanks by inserting the Jumper into the threaded end and tightening the shank. This jumper allows the cleaning solution to flow out of one shank and into the other.
STEP 5 Attach the Ball- Lock Jumper to the end of your other tap line by
inserting either side of the jumper into the disconnect until lock clicks into
place. If the lock does not automatically click into place, pull the lock down
manually.
PRO TIP: This jumper will hold the Ball-Lock Disconnect open so that the BLC
can flow through during cleaning.
STEP 6 Put the Ball-Lock Disconnect with the Jumper into an empty bucket (sold
separately) of at least2 gallons, in order to collect the cleaning solution.
PRO TIP: A brewing bucket works great for this.
STEP 7 Now attach your CO2 Ball-lock Gas Line to the Mini-keg Keg “In” post.
Turn up the pressure in your regulator just enough that it starts pushing
line cleaner out of the mini-keg and through the lines.
STEP 7 Now attach your CO2 Ball-lock Gas Line to the Mini-keg Keg “In” post.
Turn up the pressure in your regulator just enough that it starts pushing
line cleaner out of the mini-keg and through the lines.
STEP 9 Now, with the lines full of cleaner, turn off the pressure from the CO2 regulator and let the flow slowly stop. Once the flow has stopped let the cleaner sit in the lines for about 15 minutes to remove any build-up.
STEP 10 After 15 minutes, you can turn the pressure up again to resume slow flow of the line cleaner until the mini-keg is empty. Then turn off the pressure from the CO2 tank.
STEP 11 Set aside the bucket filled with BLC to use for the next two taps or
dispose of the BLC properly. Then put the Ball-Lock
Disconnect held open by the jumper back into an empty bucket.
STEP 12 Once the keg is empty and the CO2 tank is shut off, bleed the rest of the CO2 out of the mini-keg, open it, thorougly rinse and fill the keg with water.
STEP 13 Now force water through the tap lines, using the same method we did with the BLC cleaning solution, to rinse out any remaining BLC before you use the tap line again for any beer.
STEP 14 Your tap lines are now clean and ready to hook up your next batch of Brew to Share and Enjoy!
PRO TIP: Additional jumpers can be purchased separately to daisy-chain multiple tap lines together. This allows you to clean all of your lines at once.
