Product Usage Instructions

Power Supply & Connection

  1. Insert the grounding cable into the grounding terminal of the switch.
  2. Tighten the screw with a screwdriver securely.
  3. Connect the other end of the grounding cable to the general grounding point in the room.

Port Connection

To connect to the RJ45 port:

  • Observe the status of the port indicator for connection status.
  • Ensure the RJ45 cable is securely connected to the port.

To connect to the SFP port:

  1. Connect the appropriate fiber module based on multimode or single-mode specifications.
  2. Use a console cable (not included) to connect the switch to a PC for configuration.

Installation

For desktop installation:
To install the switch on a desktop, remove the protective rubber layer from the cushioning pads and place them in the circular slots at the corners of the switch’s underside. Then, flip the switch and gently place it on the table. For wall mounting, use the provided screws to secure the switch in a horizontal position on the selected wall. For rack installation, use the L-shaped rack mount supports and screws to ensure the switch is securely installed in the rack.

Connection and Power Supply
Connect the power cable to the switch first, then plug the power supply into the equipment room’s power system. For grounding, remove the grounding screw from the back panel of the switch, connect one end of the grounding cable to the screw hole, and tighten with a screwdriver. Attach the other end of the grounding cable to a general ground connection in the room.

Ports and Indicators

  1. Ethernet Ports 1-8: RJ45 connectors used to connect terminals. Note: GWN7801P, GWN7802P, GWN7803P support PoE and PoE+.

  2. SFP Ports: For connecting 1000 Mbps fiber modules.

  3. Console Port: For connecting the management PC.

  4. Reset Button: Press for 5 seconds to reset to factory settings.

  5. System Indicator: LED indicating system status.

  6. Power Socket: For power supply.

  7. Grounding Post: For lightning protection.

  8. Fan: To maintain optimal operating temperature.

  9. Place rubber pads on the bottom of the switch.

  10. Screw the switch onto the table using mounting brackets (not included).

Access & Configuration

For remote login via SSH/Telnet:

  1. Enable Telnet on the switch.
  2. Open cmd on your PC.
  3. Enter telnet command in cmd.
  4. Use standard username and password for login (found on the GWN7800Switch sticker).

For configuration via GWN.Cloud / GWN Manager:

  1. Visit https://www.gwn.cloud in your browser and log in with your account credentials.
  2. If you do not have an account, register first or ask your administrator to assign one.
