Product Information

Specifications

  • Product Name: TLR8/NFB-Luc/HEK293 CBP74021
  • Cell Line: HEK293
  • Gene Expression: Firefly luciferase under NFkB response elements
  • Receptor: Human TLR8 (CD288)

Product Usage Instructions

Background
The TLR family is essential for pathogen recognition and innate immunity activation. TLR8 specifically recognizes single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) from viruses like Influenza, HIV, and HCV. Activation of TLR8 by viral RNA triggers MyD88 recruitment, leading to NF-B transcription factor activation and antiviral response.

Description
The product consists of recombinant HEK293 cells expressing the firefly luciferase gene controlled by NFkB response elements. These cells constitutively express human TLR8, a member of the toll-like receptor family.

Host Cell Line Information

  • Organism: Homo sapiens (human)
  • Tissue: Embryonic kidney
  • Disease: Normal
  • Morphology: Epithelioid cell
  • Growth Properties: Adherent

Representative Data
Figure 1 shows the Luciferase assay using the Ultra Luciferase Detection Kit CBPH0001 (recommended to purchase from Cobioer). The data corresponds to the TLR8/NF-kB Reporter – HEK293 Recombinant Cell Line (C1).

FAQ

  • Q: What is the role of TLR8 in innate immunity?
A: TLR8 recognizes ssRNA from viruses like Influenza, HIV, and HCV, triggering an antiviral response through NF-B activation.

  • Q: Is murine TLR8 functional?
A: No, murine TLR8 is non-functional due to the absence of five amino acids.

TLR8/NFκB-Luc/HEK293
CBP74021

Background

The TLR family plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLR8 is an endosomal receptor that recognizes single stranded RNA (ssRNA), and can recognize ssRNA viruses such as Influenza, HIV and HCV. TLR8 binding to the viral RNA recruits MyD88 and leads to activation of the transcription factor NF-κB and an antiviral response. Human TLR8 is functional but murine TLR8 is non-functional because it lacks five amino acids.

Description

Recombinant HEK293 cell expressing firefly luciferase gene under the control of NFkB response elements with constitutive expression of human TLR8 (Toll- like receptor 8, also known as CD288, a member of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family (GenBank Accession No. NM_138636).
