Product FAQs
Technical requirements to use the HUB.
- Make sure the Type-C port of your device is full-featured (with charging, data transfer, and DP Alt Mode function). Some functions, for example, mirroring or extending the screen cannot be used if it is not full-featured.
- The Type-C port of the Huawei Mate Book X is not full-featured and does not have a DP Alt Mode function. Its DP Alt Mode function is on the other port, so the laptop cannot use the HDMI/VGA port of the hub to connect to the monitor to output the desktop.
- Features of a full-featured Type-C port: charging, data transfer, and DP Alt Mode, up to lOGbps of data transmission speed, USB 3.1 standard, and backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1. Non-full-featured ports support only data output. Before purchasing, please make sure that your device meets the requirements.
What to do when your external hard drive won’t show up.
- Windows Systems: go to This PC > devices and drives > check the hard disk in the location section of the Finder. (Shortcut key WIN+E);
- Mac Systems: click Finder on the desktop > check the hard disk in Location.
NTFS hard disks are read-only in Mac OS.
- Because the Mac OS does not support the NTFS format, it supports the EXFAT format. Therefore, you need to format the hard disk to change the format of the hard disk. Please back up your data before formatting the hard disk.
- Open up Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility>Select Disk >click the Erase tab>Set Format to ExFAT>Once complete, click Done The drive is now in ExFAT format and can read and write normally.
USB 3.0 ports do not reach the described speed
- Transmission speed will slow down when the HUB is not supplied with enough power. Please charge the HUB through the PD port.
- Please ensure your mobile hard disk supports USB 3.0, and connect the cable with the USB 3.0 port correctly.
Unable to extend/project monitor using HDMI port
Select a proper HDMI signal source. For example, monitors or TVs normally have
HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 input labeled. For LG displays, go to Settings > Input >
Input List > Select HDMI1 or 2.
The resolution ratio is not as high as advertised
- The promoted resolution ratio of this product comes from the test results of Baseus Lab, please make sure your device and the display both support this resolution ratio.
- This HUB is compatible with DP1.2 and 1.4, but the actual resolution ratio depends on the hardware of the connected device, if the connected device (laptop, HDMI cable, display) can’t meet the conditions, then it can’t project with the highest resolution ratio.
The HUB is getting hot
- The HUB has a built-in chip. The chip will get hot during operation. The more types and quantity of interfaces a HUB has, the stronger processing power and more heat the chip delivers. Shells made of metal materials have better heat dissipation to prevent the chip from overheating, causing the instability of the HUB or failures such as disconnection.
- It is normal for the HUB to generate heat in the process of operation
Slow response of mouse and keyboard
- HUB working at full load may lead to insufficient voltage, please connect Type-C (PD) to provide power.
- When mice, keyboards, hard disks, and other devices work at the same time, signal interference may lead to a slow response.
