ESCO LITE 00F-51UV-001A UV Flashlight

GETTING STARTED

1. Unfasten the tail cap and remove the battery holder.
2. Insert three (3) AA Alkaline batteries following the correct polarity (+,-) marked on the battery holder.
3. Insert the battery holder into the flashlight following the direction of the arrow.
4. Fasten the tail cap.

CAUTION

• High-intensity Ultraviolet light. Please avoid Eye & Skin exposure. Wear proper Eye & Skin Protection.
• Do Not Use AA Rechargeable Batteries. Please use AA high-quality Alkaline Batteries.

WARNING

1. Use rechargeable or Lithium-ion batteries may present a fire and/or explosion hazard, We recommend using only AA Alkaline batteries from a reputable manufacturer. (Do NOT use AA Rechargeable Batteries)
2. Do not mix different brands or types of batteries in the same flashlight. Replace all batteries at the same time.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the flashlight flickers works intermittently, or does not turn on, check and verify that:

• Each battery is fully inserted matching the polarity (+/-) on the battery holder.
• Each battery end is touching a metal contact in the battery holder.
• The battery holder contacts are clean and the springs are not bent sideways.
• The flashlight’s inner spring is firmly attached and not bent.
• The battery holder is inserted into the flashlight following the direction of the arrow.
• The tail cap is twisted on tightly.

Firmly press the power button on and off several times:

• If the flashlight still does not turn on, replace the batteries.
• If the problem persists, contact Escolite for a replacement.

Why Does My UV Light Not Make Urine Glow?

1. Insufficiently dried urine (the usual culprit!) – Can only spot dried urine stains. Not work well on Cat Urine.
2. Used/low-power batteries – Escolite LEDs use a lot of battery power. Used batteries can deliver markedly lower UV light output and therefore the resultant weaker glows can make finding urine stains difficult.
3. Not searching in complete darkness – Although obvious, only by searching in pitch black conditions will you be given the best chance of seeing the full spectrum of glows at their brightest, from vivid & intense colors to the very faintest glows from older stains.
4. Not searching in the right areas – Sometimes you’ll smell the stains yet see nothing. This could well be because you simply have not looked around hard enough! Pets can appear to be very creative with where they urinate.
5. Difficult in dark or patterned surfaces – Darker colors absorb more light and reduce glow, making detecting contrasts quite difficult. Dark carpet colors won’t show dirt or stains as easily as light carpet colors under UV light.

MAINTENANCE

Inspect the flashlight monthly carefully remove any damaged batteries and clean any corrosion. If the flashlight is used less than once a month, remove the batteries between uses. Lubricate all threads and rubber O-rings with petroleum jelly twice yearly.

• Escolite warrants this product for one year from purchase against any defects in material or workmanship. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, nor damage resulting from misuse or neglect.
