Product Usage Instructions

  1. Insert batteries into the scanner before use.
  2. Press and hold the yellow button to power the scanner. A beep will indicate successful activation. The scanner will light up, displaying the last microchip number read, if applicable.
  3. Continuously press the yellow button while scanning the pet. Hold the ring of the scanner at a 30-degree angle against the pet, ensuring the right or left edge touches the pet.
  4. These edges provide optimal read areas for the scanner.
  5. Upon detecting a microchip, the scanner will beep, and the screen will show the pet’s microchip number.
  6. To assist in reuniting a found pet with its owner, visit www.petmicrochiplookup.org or contact AKC Reunite at 800-252-7894.

Note
Avoid writing on, marking, or damaging the scanner to prevent voiding the warranty. Handle internal components with care, especially those with exposed solder containing lead. Wash hands after handling and avoid inhaling solder fumes during maintenance.

Using the ProScan 700 Scanner

  1. Insert batteries before use.
  2. Press and hold the yellow button to turn the scanner on. You will hear a beep. The scanner will light up and indicate the number of the last microchip read, if applicable.
  3. Continuously press the yellow button while scanning the pet. Hold the ring of the scanner at a 30-degree angle against the pet with the right or left edge touching the pet.
  4. The right and left edges of the ring are the optimal read areas for the scanner.
    • Slowly scan the area between the shoulder blades in a zig-zag pattern.
    • If no microchip is detected between the shoulder blades, scan a broader area, including the front legs down to the elbows and the neck.
  5. When a microchip is detected, the scanner will beep and the screen will display the pet’s microchip number.
  6. To help reunite a found pet with its owner, go to www.petmicrochiplookup.org or call AKC Reunite at 800-252-7894.
  7. The scanner will automatically turn itself off approximately 30 seconds after you stop pressing the yellow button.
  8. For future reference: if the scanner is working slowly, replace it with four new AA batteries (Energizer or Duracell are recommended) Also watch the screen for a low battery indicator message.
  9. Batteries should be checked monthly.
  10. For best results, remove metal collars before scanning. Computers, some

This scanner comes with a twelve-month manufacturer’s warranty. Please do NOT write on, mark on or otherwise damage or deface this scanner as this may void the warranty.
