Product Usage Instructions

Before First Use

  1. Take the appliance and its accessories out of the packaging materials.
  2. Before first use, wipe the inside of the kettle with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water.

Using the Milk Frother and Warmer

  1. Unwind the power cord and place the base on a stable, even, and clean surface.
  2. Select an attachment (either A7 or A8) depending on the operating mode and attach it to the shaft.
  3. Do not fill the kettle when it is placed on the base to avoid splashing.
  4. For creating milk froth, use milk with a higher fat content.
  5. Place the kettle on the base and insert the power plug into an electrical power socket. The indicator light will be lit red.
  6. Set the operating mode that corresponds to the attachment inserted in the kettle.

READ CAREFULLY AND STORE FOR FUTURE USE.

  • This appliance is designed for domestic use and similar locations such as:
    • staff kitchens in stores, offi ces and other workplaces;
    • hotel or motel rooms and other living areas;
    • bed and breakfast establishments.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Only place the appliance on an even, dry and stable surface.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near an electric or gas stove or other sources of heat.
  • Before connecting this appliance to the socket outlet, make sure the voltage stated on the label of the appliance corresponds to the voltage in your power socket. Connect the appliance only to a properly grounded socket.
  • Do not use the appliance in the direct vicinity of a bathtub, wash basin, shower, pool or other similar sources of water.
  • Only use the milk kettle with the base that was supplied with it.
  • The appliance is designed for frothing and heating milk. Do not use it for other purposes.
  • Before pouring milk into the kettle, make sure that the milk frothing or stirring attachment is properly installed inside.
  • Do not start the appliance without the lid in place.
  • Do not touch the rotating frothing or stirring attachment.

Warning :
If the kettle is overfi lled, milk may splash out during operation.

  • Do not open the lid while the appliance is in operation. Pay extra attention when handling a kettle fi lled with hot milk.
  • Do not turn on the appliance when it is empty. The incorrect use of the appliance may negatively affect its lifetime.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the power socket if you will not be using it, before moving it, cleaning it or changing the accessories (attachments).
  • Allow the appliance to cool down before replacing accessories and cleaning it.
  • Do not wash the milk kettle (except for the removable lid) and the base under running water and do not submerge it in water or in any other liquid.
  • Make sure the power cord is not touching a hot surface. Do not place heavy items on the power cord.
  • Do not disconnect the appliance from the power socket by pulling on the power cord. This could damage the power cord or the socket. Disconnect the cord from the power socket by gently pulling the plug of the power cord.
  • If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced at a professional service centre. It is forbidden to use the appliance if it has a damaged power cord or plug.
  • To avoid the danger of injury by electrical shock, do not repair the appliance yourself or make any adjustments to it. Have all repairs or adjustments of the appliance performed at an authorised service centre. Tampering with the appliance during the warranty period may void the warranty policy.

DESCRIPTION OF THE MILK FROTHER AND WARMER

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Take the appliance and its accessories out of the packaging materials.
  2. Before fi rst use, wipe the inside of the kettle A2 using a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and neutral kitchen detergent. Use a cloth dampened in warm water to thoroughly wipe the surface on to which you applied the kitchen detergent and then wipe it dry.
  3. Wash attachments A7–8 and lid A1 in warm water using a neutral kitchen detergent. Then rinse these parts under running water and dry them.
  4. Now the appliance is ready for frothing and heating milk.

USING THE MILK FROTHER AND WARMER

  1. Unwind the power cord and place the base A5 on a stable, even and clean surface.

  2. Select an attachment A7 or A8 depending on the operating mode and attach it to the shaft located inside the kettle A2.
    The frothing attachment A7 is designed for the milk frothing and heating mode or the milk frothing mode without heating. The stirring attachment A8 is designed for the milk heating mode without frothing.

  3. Pour well cooled milk into the kettle A2 while following the instructions described below.
    If you wish to use the milk frothing and heating mode or the frothing mode without heating, the milk level must not exceed the bottom level mark (100 ml), that is marked on the inside wall of the kettle A2.
    If you wish to use the milk heating mode without frothing, the milk level must not exceed the top level mark (200 ml), that is marked on the inside wall of the kettle A2.
    Attention:
    Do not fi ll the kettle A2 when it is placed on the base A5.
    If the kettle A2 is overfi lled, milk may splash out during operation.
    Tip:
    For creating milk froth, use milk with a higher fat content, ideally full- cream milk (fat content of 3.5 %).

  4. Place the kettle A2 on to the base A5. Insert the power plug into an electrical power socket. When the power cord is inserted the indicator light A3 will be lit red.

  5. Set the operating mode that corresponds to the attachment inserted in the kettle A2. Note :
    The operation of the appliance can be interrupted at any time by pressing the button A4.

  6. The operating mode will end automatically and the appliance will switch to the stand-by mode. The indicator light A3 will be lit red.

  7. Carefully remove the lid A1 and pour the milk out into a prepared container.
    Note:
    Do not repeatedly heat up the milk. Always use a new batch of cooled milk for the next heating operation.

  8. Clean out the inside area of the kettle A2 after each use according to the instructions in chapter Cleaning and maintenance.

  9. Before turning the appliance on again, wait approx 3 minutes. If the appliance is turned on 5 times in sequence without a break, the indicator light A3 will be lit blue and fl ash. The button A4 is temporarily out of operation. This is a safety function to prevent the appliance from being damaged. After 5 minutes the appliance will switch to the stand-by mode and will be ready for further use. The indicator light A3 will be lit red.

  10. If you will not be using the appliance, disconnect the power cord from the electrical power socket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Make sure that the appliance is disconnected from the power socket before cleaning and allow it to cool down.

  • Remove attachment A7 or A8 from the kettle A2. Wash it in warm water using a neutral kitchen detergent. Then thoroughly rinse it under fl owing water and dry it. Proceed in the same manner when cleaning the lid A1.
    Note :
    Do not wash attachments A7–8 and the lid A1 in a dishwasher.

  • Wipe the inside of the kettle A2 using a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and neutral kitchen detergent. Use a cloth dampened in warm water to thoroughly wipe the surface on to which you applied the kitchen detergent and then wipe it dry.

  • Use a dry cloth to clean the outer surface of the kettle A2. In the event of heavier soiling, dampen the cloth in a weak solution of neutral kitchen detergent. After applying the kitchen detergent, wipe the surface of the kettle A2 with a lightly dampened cloth and then wipe dry.

  • To clean the base A5 use only a dry cloth.

  • Never use abrasive cleaning products, petrol, solvents, steel wool, etc. for cleaning.
