Introduction To Backup And Restore

Backup and recovery describe the process of creating and storing copies of data that can be used to protect organizations against data loss referred to as operational recovery. Recovery from a backup typically involves restoring the data to the original location, or to an alternate location where it can be used in place of the lost or damaged data.

  • A proper backup copy is stored in a separate system or medium from the primary data to protect against the possibility of data loss due to hardware or software failure.

  • Click on the settings menu from the main menu.

  • The list of settings will open. Click on the “backup and restore” from the list

  • The main screen appears with two tabs “backup” and “restore”.

Data Backup

  • Enter the valid file name and you will observe the “backup” button being enabled and now click on the “backup” button

  • The following data would be stored in the respective file location C:\KERN Easy Touch\ app Data\ Backups

  1. Roles
  2. Users
  3. Weighing devices
  4. Company settings
  5. Authentication settings
  6. Print format templates
  7. Audios
  8. Environmental settings
  9. Master data
  10. Dynamic data
  11. Containers
  12. Nutrition
  13. Test weights

Data Restoration

  • Login to the desired Easy Touch system where the data has to be restored

  • Navigate to the backup and restore settings and now click on the “restore tab”

  • Select the required backup file by clicking on the “upload” icon and choose the required file

  • Click on “restore” once uploading the desired file

  • The data will be replaced by your existing data once the confirmation is given.
    Kindly note, the system will replace the data based upon the licenses purchased and activated.
