Product Usage Instructions

Setting up the Smart CD Module:

1. Your kit includes the Smart CD Module and CD Player.
2. Place the CD Player in a suitable location with the correct orientation (THIS SIDE UP sticker facing up).
3. Locate the Smart CD Module and USB connection cable.
4. Connect the USB cable to the module and then to the USB input in your vehicle.
5. Connect your smartphone to the Smart CD Module via USB.
6. Enable CarPlay when prompted on the radio display.
7. Once connected, you can access the CD player through the on-screen prompt.

Using Wireless CarPlay:

1. Locate the CarPlay icon on the Module user screen.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your iPhone.
3. To return to the CD player controller, use the CarPlay return icon.

Using Phone Casting:

1. Locate the Cast icon on the screen.
2. Follow the prompts to connect your phone for casting.
3. To disconnect, press the Stop Streaming Icon on your phone or the Home Icon on the Radio’s Touch Screen.

SMART CD Module set-up instructions

• STEP 1. Your kit will provide the Smart CD Module and CD Player.
• STEP 2. Delegate a location for the CD Player, making sure the orientation keeps the unit facing in the correct direction with the “THIS SIDE UP” Sticker facing the sky. Do not have the unit on its side or upside down as this will void the warranty and damage the unit.
• STEP 3. Locate the Smart CD Module and the correlating USB connection cable that has been provided for you.
• STEP 4. Connect the USB cable to the smaller USB C side connection of the module, with the other end free to be connected to the USB input of your vehicle.
• STEP 5. Locate your Smartphone USB input (not the charging-only USB port) and proceed to connect.
• STEP 6. Wait for the radio to prompt you to enable or disable CarPlay. Make sure you enable CarPlay as the Module communicates through the CarPlay communicator.
• STEP 7. Once connected, after 15-20 seconds the unit will take over the Factory display and give you an on-screen prompt.
• STEP 8. Acknowledge the prompt and proceed to connect the CD player. Once connected you will be able to access your CD through the CD icon on the screen.

USING WIRELESS CAR PLAY

The Module is fitted with a wired-to-wireless CarPlay conversion. To use, follow these steps:

• STEP 1. Locate the CarPlay icon on the Module user screen on your Radio.

• STEP 2. Push the icon and follow the steps to connect your iPhone.

• STEP 3. Once connected, anytime you wish to connect to CarPlay, simply push the icon. Make sure you are acknowledging the CarPlay command on your phone if you have not allowed for an auto connection.
  NOTE:

  • Each time this is performed, the device must disconnect from the CD
  • Player and reconnect to the iPhone. This process could take up to 30 seconds.

• STEP 4. To return to the CD player controller, simply locate the White and Red CarPlay return icon, push it and you will be back in your Main Menu.

Using Phone Casting:
The Module is also fitted with a Phone Casting option, which provides the ability for the device to Stream or Cast your Phone Display directly onto your Radio Display. When doing this, you will only be able to control the phone functions from the phone and not the device as it is only allowing a remote display.

To Connect:

• STEP 1. Locate the Cast icon and push it.
• STEP 2. Follow the onscreen prompts to connect
• STEP 3. Once connected, you can choose to Auto Connect or Acknowledge each time you wish to connect.
• STEP 4. To disconnect, simply push the Stop Streaming Icon on your phone or push the Home Icon on the Touch Screen of your Radio.
