Use
Power on/off
Move the switch on the back of the controller to “On” to turn it on.
The LED indicators light up. Move the switch to “Off” to turn off the
controller.
Note! The controller enters sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity and
the LEDs turn off. Press the Home button ( ) to wake it up again.
Connecting to a PC (wireless)
Connect the included USB-A nano receiver to a free USB port on your PC or PS3.
The controller is automatically installed, and the drivers show as “Xbox 360
controller for Windows” on your PC.
Charging the controller
The LED indicators located below the joysticks on the front of the controller
rapidly flash to indicate that the built-in battery is low and needs to be
charged.
Connect the included Micro USB cable to the controllers USB port and a USB
charger or computer. The LED indicators below the joysticks flash when the
controller is charging and turn off when it has been fully charged.
Note! The controller has to be on during charging.
Controller modes
This controller supports XInput mode and DirectInput mode.
XInput is the default mode and the controller automatically starts in this
mode. It is designed by Microsoft for their Xbox controllers and is compatible
with most platforms on PC.
DirectInput mimics the earlier types of controllers for systems such as
Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). DirectInput mode also has
two sub-settings, analog and digital. Analog has joystick functions like the
N64 controller. Digital has only directional button functions like the NES
controller.
Change controller mode
Press and hold the Home button ( ) on the middle of the controller for 5
seconds to switch between DirectInput and XInput mode. Your computer confirms
the mode change by playing the USB device connected chime sound.
In DirectInput mode, you can switch between digital and analog by pressing the
Home button. The LED indicators (from left to right) shows the current mode:
Digital mode: first indicator lights up.
Analog mode: first and second LED indicator light up.
To return to XInput mode, press and hold the Home button for 5 seconds.
Turbo mode
Turbo is used to send a command automatically and repeatedly while holding
down a button. Turbo can be enabled for multiple buttons at the same time.
Note! Turbo mode is compatible with buttons: Y, X, B, A, L1, L2, R1 and
R2. Turbo mode is not compatible with: Select, Start, Clear, Home, the analog
stick directions or pad buttons.
To enable turbo mode for a button, press and hold the Turbo button while
pressing the button you want to activate turbo mode for. Release the buttons
to confirm.
To turn off turbo mode on a button, press and hold the Clear button and whilst
pressing the button you want to turn off turbo for.
