WHAT’S IN THE BOX…
BEFORE YOU START…
PLUG SOCKETS
All fires must have an accessible plug. Do not fit a fire above a socket.
Building regulations require the socket to be located at the side of the unit.
It is preferable to fit the fire to a fused spur for safety. This ensures it
has it’s own supply and will not overload current installations.
IMPORTANT
Please speak with a qualified expert before undertaking any work, and if
required, ask them to carry out the installation for you.
WALL FIXINGS
If fixing the fire to a wall, please ensure suitable fixings are used for the
material the fire is being fixed to. Often the wall is not completely flat and
the floor uneven. When hanging the fire be sure to take this into account to
ensure a good solid fit that supports the fire safely. Your retailer may offer a
fitting service, or alternatively you can find a builder to fit the fire for
you.
FLAT WALL INSTALLATION
FITTING YOUR E-FX FIRE ONTO A WALL OR INTO A STRUCTURE…
If purchased as a fire only or as a standard wall mount suite, the height at
which you may wish to fix the fire in, or on the wall, is up to you. Be sure to
take account of local building regulations, and if not sure, always consult a
professional.
- The height at which you fit the fire is up to you, however we reccomend fitting it around 300mm or 11 & 13/16 inches from the floor to the bottom of the suite.
- Start by marking a line on the wall 725mm or 28 35/64 from the foor and use a level to draw a straight line on the wall. This is where the bottom of the wall bracket will be fitted.
- Using suitable fixings, fix the wall bracket into position, making sure all the fixings are tight and secure.
- Now the top bracket is fitted, mark a line 470mm or 18 1/2 below the bottom of the wall bracket. This will be where the bottom of the support bracket goes. The support bracket can be found in the accessory pack. Fix this to the wall in the same way as the wall bracket.
- Lift the fire onto the brackets to finish the installations. Make sure that any power cables are tucked out the way. Use a screw to secure the woodwork to the bottom bracket using the metal bracket. This will prevent the unit from being lifted off the wall.
- You can now refer to the log and app instructions to set up the lights and log set. If you purches an E-FX Lite fire with a Premier Log Set, the fuel bed comes already set up.
REAR SCREEN OPTIONS
STANDARD E-FX
As standard one of the two rear screens in the E-FX fire has a reflective
coating to mirror the log effect. When the fire is on, the flame simulates a 3
dimensional burn between the actual log effect and the reflection generated by
the coating. If your preference is non-reflective, the glass with the
reflective coating can be removed leaving only the projection screen in place.
This is for E-FX fire only.
WARNING
Before any maintenance is undertaken, always disconnect the fire from the mains
power supply.
NON REFLECTIVE SCREEN OPTION
-
To remove the reflective rear glass, remove the fuel bed by removing the two screws at either side of the fuel bed. Gently lift the right side, you will need to disconnect a cable from the fuel bed to the circuit board below the connector marked “A” on the top of the fuel bed. Once this is done, you may now carefully remove the fuel bed.
-
Now remove the rear glass, leaving the projection screen in place. You can then reconnect the fuel bed and screw it back into place.
E-FX LITE
NON REFLECTIVE SCREEN OPTION
For E-FX Lite Fires, you can make the screen non reflective by removing the
fuel bed and flipping the rear screen. Once the screen has been flipped, refit
the screen and fuel bed, making sure to reconnect it before screwing it back
in.
