Fender Blades

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Note: Ideal installation temperatures are between 70ºF to 100ºF (21ºC to 38ºC). The minimum application temperature is 50ºF (10ºC).

Park on a level surface and shut oﬀ the motorcycle. Ensure that the engine has had time to cool before installation.
Set parking brake and/or chock wheels to prevent movement of the motorcycle.
Note: Installation is identical for left and right sides of the motorcycle.
Remove stock taillight lens.
Plug the Fender Blade light into the empty 3 pin connection on the taillight base to test function. Verify Run, Brake and turn signals are working as intended. Fig.1
Unplug light from taillight base.
Test ﬁt light along the bottom edge of rear fender(s). Part should be centered left to right and wire channel should hook on bottom edge of fender. Fig.2
Take note of ﬁnal position, it may be helpful to use masking tape to mark the ﬁnal location.
ATTENTION: Thoroughly clean the mounting surface with denatured alcohol to remove all wax, oil, and residue.
NOTE, New motorcycles are delivered from the factory covered in protective oil. Remove it before installing this product.
NOTE, Do not install if the temperature is below 50° F. The adhesive will not cure properly.
Remove tape liner from light and press into place with ﬁrm pressure, holding for 30 seconds. Bond strength will increase over time; approximately 50% of ultimate bond strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours and 100% after 72 hours. Be most cautious during this time.
Route wire along inside surface of the fender to meet the factory wire harness at the taillight base.
Feed connector into taillight base through pre-existing hole in fender. It may be helpful to remove or loosen the taillight base from the fender temporarily. Fig.3
Plug 3-pin connector into open location on taillight base. Fig.4
Re-install taillight lens.
Secure wire along inside of fender using included cable ties and retainers. It is critical to keep the wire away from the moving tire.
Repeat for other side.
