Fatboy® product information Hotspot:
Important instructions. Retain for future use.
Read the instruction manual carefully before using the Hotspot, especially the safety instructions, and keep the instruction manual for future use. Should you give this device to another person, it is vital that you also pass on these instructions for use.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • The appliance can be used by children older than 3 years and younger than 8 years under supervision and with the control always set to minimum temperature value.

  • Children under the age of three are not to use this appliance due to their inability to react to overheating.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • When the appliance is likely to be used for an extended period, for instance by the user falling asleep, controls should be adjusted to a setting recommended for continuous use.

  • The appliance is only to be used with the included red control panel.

  • The Hotspot Blanket is a overblanket.

  • If The Hotspot is slept on with the controls set to a higher temperature the user may suffer skin burns or heat stroke.

  • When not in use, store as follows:
    – Allow it to cool down before folding.
    – Do not crease the appliance by placing items on top of it during storage.

  • Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs, if the appliance has been misused or does not work, return it to the supplier before switching it on again.

  • This appliance is not intended for medical use in hospitals.

  • Do not use if wet.

  • This appliance must not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other very vulnerable persons who are unable to react to overheating.

  • The cable and control unit of the appliance can give rise to risks of entanglement, strangulation, tripping or treading if not correctly arranged. The user shall make sure that  excess ties and electric cords shall be arranged in a safe way.

  • WARNING: For the purposes of recharging the battery, only use the detachable supply unit provided with this appliance.

  • This heating product contains an adapter (battery charge) and a battery pack (power source), which can be purchased and replaced from www.fatboy.com or at your local Fatboy dealer. Adapter model is MKC-0502400SEUU. Battery pack is ICR186503S1P-2600

  • Do not use non-rechargeable batteries.

  • Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the appliance and safely disposed of.

  • The supply terminals of battery pack are not to be short-circuited

WARNING: LEAKING BATTERY ACID CAN CAUSE BURNS.

  • Fluid may leak out under abusive conditions leaking from the battery; avoid contact. fluid, leaking from the battery can cause irritation or burns.
  • If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
  • If battery fluid comes into contact with skin, eyes or mucous membranes, wash and rinse the affected area immediately with clean water. Consult a doctor if necessary.
  • Hotspot is a battery powered heating product using infrared (FIR) technology. The Hotspot Blanket is an overblanket.

How to use Before use:

  • Step 1: unbox and check all contents in the box (see page 1 and further for a visual explanation);

  • Step 2: read this full instruction manual carefully before use;

  • Step 3: connect the barrel plug inside the cover to the plug on the red Fatboy label;

  • Step 4: connect the second plug from the red Fatboy label to the battery;

  • Step 5 A: Hotspot Quadro: store the battery in the front pocket of the pillow. Then add the pillow cover and close the zipper;

  • Step 5B: Hotspot Lungo: store the battery in the front pocket of the pillow. Then add the pillow cover and close the zipper;

  • Step 5C: Hotspot Blanket: store the battery in the opening in the blanket. Then fix the Fatboy label with Velcro;

  • Step 6: Start charging by inserting the usb cable to the adapter and snap the magnetic charger to the back of the label;

  • Step 7: Connect the adapter into the power supply to charge the battery.

Charging the battery

To fully charge the battery, allow approximately 3 hours of charging. Check the led indicators on the red Fatboy label for the battery status. The battery is charging when the indicator is blinking. When all four LED’s are lit constantly the battery is fully charged. When the Hotspot turns off by itself (after a blinking battery indicator), it indicates the battery needs to be charged. Check battery: press and hold the heat button ( in the ‘O’ of the Fatboy logo) for 2 seconds to see the battery indicator.
The battery indicator on the label shows the battery capacity by 4 LED’s.
4 LED’s on: 100-75%
3 LED’s on: 75-50%
2 LED’s on: 50-25%
1 LED on: 25-0%

Turn on/off and change temperature
Hotspot can easily be turned on by pressing the On/off button on the back off the Fatboy label.
The Hotspot has three heatsettings, indicated by the LED’s on the label. These heatsettings can be controlled by the heat button ( in the ‘O’ of the Fatboy logo) on the front.

  • Turn ON: Press the button on the back of the label.
  • Start heatsetting LOW: Press the heat button once to get 28 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Start heatsetting MEDIUM: Press the heat button twice to get 34 to 38 degrees Celsius (not intended for extended use)
  • Start heatsetting HOT: press the heat button three times to get 38 to 42 degrees Celsius (not intended for extended use)
  • Turn OFF: Press the button on the back of the label to turn Hotspot off at any given time.

Maintenance:

If you don’t use the Hotspot for a longer period of time, please make sure you recharge the battery at least every three months to keep the battery in good condition.

Cleaning:

  • Hotspot Quadro cover: hand wash only.
    Please remove the cover before washing, and take the innerbag and electronics out.
    NOTE: THE FILLING AND ELECTRONICS ARE NOT WASHABLE and should be kept dry.

  • Hotspot Lungo cover: handwash only.
    Please remove the cover before washing, and take the innerbag and electronics out.
    NOTE: THE FILLING AND ELECTRONICS ARE NOT WASHABLE and should be kept dry.

  • Hotspot Blanket: hand wash only. Please remove the fatboy label and battery before washing.
    Do not use cleaning agents which contain alcohol, benzene, abrasive substances or chemicals.

Trouble shooting:

The HOTSPOT is not working well:
The Hotspot is not turning on:
Please make sure to press the on/off switch at the BACK of the label first before you are able to operate the heat settings using the button on the FRONT of the Fatboy label. This is a safety measure to avoid the Hotspot from turning on accidentally. The Hotspot is not responding at all when pressing the on/off switch followed by the switch on the front side of the label:

  • charge the Hotspot only using the adapter and usb cable provided with Hotspot
  • By installing the charger the indicator lights on the Fatboy label should light up (blinking) indicating the charging process has started.

The product is still not responding: If the product is not responding to the connection of the charger, take the following steps:

  1. please open-up the cover for the Hotspot Pillow or Blanket .
  2. check the connection of the control board inside the label to the battery. These two are connected by a barrel plug.
  3. Check if the connection is connected properly.
  4. Check the connection of the control board inside the label to the heat pad at the same time.

Try to turn it on again, and check if the product responds to the charger one final time.

The Hotspot is not turning off:
The Hotspot can be turned off using the switch at the back of the label. In case you are not able to turn Hotspot off please disconnect the battery pack and get in touch with your Fatboy dealer.
