Fatboy® product information Flamtastique XS:

Flamtastique XS is a decorative oil lamp It uses a cotton wick, and runs on paraffin-based lamp oil. Flamtastique XS has a fuel chamber that can hold 450ml of lamp oil. The wick height can be adjusted by carefully rotating the round handle on the side of Flamtastique XS, to determine the size of the flame, or to extinguish the flame.

WARNING: READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE!

• Please use paraffin-based lamp oil only.
  NOTE: NEVER USE PETROL OR OTHER FUELS!

• Purified paraffin-based oil works best and produces less odor!

• Use a 35mm (wide) x 1mm (thick) wick only, to ensure a proper user experience (20cm long).

• For both indoor and outdoor use, but always store inside.

• Place Flamtastique XS on a rigid, horizontal surface.

• This is not a toy, please keep away from children.

• This is a delicate product, please handle the glass and the round handle with care.

WARNING: IF SMALL CHILDREN TAKE A SIP OF LAMP OIL, OR EVEN SUCK THE WICK, IT MAY LEAD TO LIFE-THREATENING LUNG DAMAGE.

WARNING: IF LAMP OIL IS SWALLOWED, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE IMMEDIATELY OR CONTACT A POISON INFORMATION CENTER AND SHOW THESE WARNINGS.

WARNING: KEEP THIS OIL LAMP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN, BOTH WHILE IN USE AND WHEN STORED.

Instruction for use and maintenance:

First time use:

• After unpacking please follow the instructions in the manual step by step to assemble Flamtastique XS in the correct order.
• Fill the fuel container to the max level before first time use. Unscrew the Glass chamber from the center part, and carefully fill the container with a paraffin-based lamp oil. Try to avoid spilling.
• To enjoy your Flamtastique XS optimally, it is very important to soak the wick in oil in the fuel container for 15 minutes before lighting. If the wick is well saturated with oil and the container filled to max level, you can enjoy a beautiful flame for many hours. Do not forget to reattach the fuel container to the center part.
• Turn the round handle with care clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the visible wick length to about 2mm. Please note the round handle is a delicate part of the lamp.
• Take the glass chimney off.
• Ignite the fire using (preferably) a long lighter or match.
• Put the Glass Chimney back into position
  NOTE: MAKE SURE THE FLAME IS LOW.

General use:

• Make sure Flamtastique XS is positioned on a flat, rigid surface.

• The screw and hexagon key included can be used as a safety measure. This screw should be used as:
  1: For child safety, the screw can be mounted in the center of the wick to avoid spilling when Flamtastique XS is tilted.
  2: Storage/Moving safety, the screw should be fixed when storing or moving Flamtastique XS. To avoid accidental spilling or leakage in case of tilting or falling over.

• Before (Re)igniting take the glass chimney off. NOTE: MAKE SURE THE GLASS CHIMNEY HAS COOLED DOWN BEFORE REMOVING IT.

• Use the round handle to adjust the visible wick length to 2mm for ignition.

• Use a long lighter or match to ignite the fire.

• To extinguish the Flamtastique XS turn the wick down so it moves into the center part. Or gently blow out the flame. Lack of oxygen will cause the flame to extinguish.

• We recommend not to turn the glass, the warning at the top is placed for your safety and the glass might break due turning the glass.

Maintenance

• Please make sure to store Flamtastique XS indoors.
• The wick will slowly burn down and will need to be replaced after a while. Please make sure to use a  35mm wide x 1mm thick cotton wick (approx. 20cm long) to ensure the best user experience.

Refilling

• Before refilling the fuel container please make sure the Flamtastique XS is turned off and that all the parts have cooled down.
• Remove the burner (with the round handle) by turning it counterclockwise from the fuel container.
• The wick might leak some oil so make sure not to spill any on vulnerable surfaces!
• Refill the fuel container to the maximum level shown on the fuel container.
• Re-assemble the burner by turning it clockwise on to the fuel container.
  Hand-tight is just fine.

Cleaning

• Flamtastique XS can easily be cleaned using a moist cloth with lukewarm water. Take off the chimney before cleaning. Please ensure the fuel chamber is empty (or nearly empty) to avoid spilling!
• Before cleaning the chimney make sure it has cooled down and carefully remove it from the center part. The chimney can be cleaned using water and soap.
  NOTE: MAKE SURE THE PART HAS COOLED DOWN.

Trouble shooting

My Flamtastique XS is not working:

• Make sure the fuel container is properly filled (there is an indicator on the container showing the maximum filling level).
• Make sure there is enough remaining wick (inside the glass chamber) to be submerged into the fuel.
•  Make sure the wick is set to length before use, The round handle can be rotated to adjust the wick length. In order to do so please make sure the screw in the center of the wick is released for the wick to move freely.
• If the wick burned to a minimum please install a new one. (35mm x1mm).
•  After not having being used for a while the wick might dry out. It might help to turn the round handle and extend the visible length of the wick. Or you can dip the visible part of the wick in the fuel chamber (upside down) to make sure it’s moist and able to ignite.
•  If the mechanism is stuck, the wick might be hardened after being unused for a longer period of time. It might help to take the chimney and the fuel chamber off, and leave the center part in a bowl filled with hot water for a while. This will make the wick flexible again. If the Mechanism is working again please leave the part, including the wick, to dry before reassembling the fuel container and chimney. This problem might appear when using paraffin oil. Please make sure the center screw is released in order for the wick to move freely.
• The chimney is broken. A broken chimney might be caused by water drips hitting the hot glass surface. Try to avoid fluids splashing on the chimney while burning.
• The lamp is flickering. Make sure the wick length is set to an ideal length by looking at the flame. When it’s too long your wick will burn quickly and black smoke will come from the flame. If the wick is set too short the flame will not be nice and eventually it will extinguish by itself.
